I've come to the conclusion that online dating is actually more difficult than just meeting some person nearby and asking them on a date. At least in real life they actually have to respond to you when rejecting you rather than on here where they just flat out ignore you.

The only thing this website does for me is remind me of how I'm not good enough.

You are taking this too seriously as some gals with great looks get a thousand hits a day and could not respond to you if they wanted. As for meeting in person of course its more immediate ,direct and easiest to assess your potential chemistry but you run the risk of less educated, socially inept, gals who have little to offer other than great looks. its a toss up as I prefer in person, but will respond to someone who wants to meet in a day or two to meet as the chances of a match are slim and time for me is much more valuable than money.. Hope you make more effort to get desired outcomes... I suggest you continue both approaches and not get so invested in initial screenings that are only to ferret out a possible meet and greet..
