Okay, for all you folks who care - lol - I found this on another site
concerning spammers:

"'EAST EUROPEAN'
Spammer usually poses as a very nice looking Russian, Ukrainian,
Belarusian, Romanian etc girl. Text is full of grammar mistakes and
confusing word misuses. Spammer may not even be someone from the East
Europe or even a female for that matter. This, definitely does not mean
that all the East European female profiles are fake. How does it work?
After some email exchange they would ask you: "Please, send me the money
so that I can buy a ticket or pay for a visa to see ya Darling". You
send the money .. well.."see ya... Darling" the "girl" is gone!"

I guess that answers my question.

Incidentally, they still contact me. Ughhhhh! Delete! Delete! Delete!!

I've been getting instant messages right and left from women who claim
to be from West Africa lately. I inform them politely that I'm not
really in the market for a bride from Europe or Africa, don't have the
money to bring one over if I were, that I DO NOT converse with people
who have blank profiles and that as of now I'm putting them on ignore
and reporting them to Yahoo as spam. My odd seem long on finding someone
to share my life with any where near me and I'm pretty sure they're even
longer finding someone real who just pops up on my IM from the other
side of the globe LOL. My self esteem isn't so low or my ego so large as
to believe these (purported) 20 or 30 somethings have actually seen my
profile and would be interested. Hell..... none of the women who I know
for a fact exist are interested but I'm still not quite that stupid. So
when they message me it's "G'bye dahling" and report the spam.

That's the ticket!! Way to go Millsdd!

Thanks for posting this dylux. This is great info to help make sure
everyone is aware of the types of scams these scammers try to run.

If you guys can also make sure to use our "Report Abuse" button on any
emails you receive from scammers, that'll help us make sure we can kick
them out of the system and help protect all of our users.

It's really annoying and lame that these guys are out there trying to
scam people. Thanks for helping us keep everyone alert. We'll keep
working on tools to make sure we keep them out of our site as much as
possible.

One thing that I found that they ALL have in common is that they tend to
use email such as "(Russian Woman)@mail.ru

That's a good tip-off.

Tatyana and Galina. That was just TODAY'S!!! And it is not even noon
yet!!!!

sorry to double post here...but I was on another site earlier this year
and I had all kinds of Russian women trying to contact me...the funny
thing was..almost all of them claimed to be already living in the US.
wtf??

I wonder if a sting operation could be used in this situation? I mean If
someone agreed to send her the money and at that time you have to get an
address or some location to pickup the money, somehow there could be a
sting Op. to catch them. Wouldn' that be cool! I know, I know that it
would just be easier to ignore them, and probably the authorities where
ever the scam is taking place, they wouldn't do anything about it.

But it still sounds cool to nab them.

That's a new one for me. All mine live in Russia, some Federation or

i`ve been on a couple sites and no lie.all the women from russia or
ukrain are hot.i mean hot. those are all models and it is all a
scam.i`ve had notes saying the exact same thing ,but from different
women.i would even have notes sent to me saying thank you for your last
letter and i never sent one.it`s quite funny.i have fun with those
girls.i`ll play the game back.i`ll pretend i want to help them,just to
be honest with me that you need help,and when they finaly give in and
say."you will halp me".i`ll say caught ya,and diconect.they get so mad.

I met two on dating sight's that were russian who SAID they were in

I haven't got any from Africa lately. I love those ones. They are in a
refugee camp with a computer. LOL

They probably have the latest techology over there that even Bill Gates
doesn't have.lol

I've gotten one from anothere site that they used my user name as
theirs. How funny is that. They can't think up any more russian names
now they have to start using my username.

I have thought of sending them a virus, but everytime I try to e-mail
them, their e-mail seems to not exist. Has that happened to anyone eles?
