Lately I've been having a repeating dream of finding an earring I lost. Wonder if it means anything

Probably not, but that's okay...A ton of dreams are completely meaningless, at least this one held some meaning.

If I had a dream like that I would think that I was having a midlife crisis. I can read that into just about any dream that I have though. I think that what you have to do is think about how the dream makes you feel. You lost something. You got it back but you didn't really because it was just a dream. I've had a lot of dreams about getting things back and they only stopped when I accepted things the way that they are now and that what I lost is in the past and I'm not getting it back.
