There are just some songs that " set the scene"

What song does it for you

Mine would be " freak me" by silk or " fever" by elvis

Nope, nothing comes to mind. Depends I guess.
I do have a drink that sets the scene: if a guy I fancy drinks Desperado's with a slice of lemon ... I just HAVE to kiss him, thoroughly blushing

Well, Iggy Pop's Down on the streets is a good song to get a woman's bra off to and I've got the Fun House album by the stereo in my bedroom.

I had a good shag to Pink Floyd's Wish you were here once. That's better for the slow lovemaking.

Apart from that, just whatever music I feel like putting on before we get down to it really.

I like Babyface, Marvin Gaye or Led Zepplin for "mood"

but depends on what kinda mood we're talkin' about here....because some rockin' country or blues can be good for a party or a bonfire :)

like Stevie Ray or Jason Aldean, Roseanne Cash for example, or Miranda, I once had a lovely lunch in Red River Gorge in a meadow out by the creek road (tunnel road) listening to Alison Krauss & Union Station. perfect for the mood :)

Music really is the soundtrack for life its a little hard to go and choose a song to set the mood with. I dunno maybe cause it takes away from the spontaneity of everything. How can I put this....The less unrehearsed things are the more real everything is. I dunno...

I kind of agree with that Lionsbrew. Your taste in music can reflect your sexuality though. So, I was with a girl and I wasn't specifically trying to "set the mood". I just wanted to put some sounds on and I like rock music. We were chatting away and had all night, so there was no hurry but probably my putting on that Iggy Pop CD did get us both in the mood. Don't know if it was just a coincidence but "Down on the streets" is one of my favorite Iggy Pop songs and now every time I listen to that song I'm going to remember that night.

I am a musician of sorts and so I end up having music on all the time. I work to it and live to it. Pretty much just put media player on random or just leave the radio going most of the time. I listen to pretty much everything all styles and genres. The reason you mentioned where a certain memory gets tied to a song happens a lot for me. Picking a certain song for a mood kinda ruins the magic of the universe a little for me so to speak. The spontaneity of it coming on at that time and place are kinda what make it magic.

Yeah, know what you mean. I'm a musician "of sorts" as well and I've got loads of music on CD. Tend to go through phases where I'm listening to the same stuff a lot. I've got my favorites though that I keep going back to and it's the songtrack of your life as you say and holds memories for you. When I've got a girlfriend I like to put on the old music that I like, rather than current stuff. It's almost like a deal breaker for me. Had one girlfriend that was about my age but wasn't really into my music and my ex was and she was a bit older than me. My last girlfriend was half my age though and she seemed to like me introducing her to the sixties and seventies rock that I like. I've never been that fashionably trendy myself and I tended to get into that stuff when it was considered "old hippy" music, so I guess that it takes me back to when I discovered it and makes a relationship exciting in that way.
