My ex husband of many years owes almost 40,000 in back child support. He has moved to another state. He has received an inheritance, of which i alerted the county of the order. Nothing. Now he doesnt have his license, but of course he still drives. He also owes the irs. I know they come first! I would 'settle' with him but we are not at that point. Does anyone know any other options? Thank you!

I know as far as inheritance there are totally different laws as far as a ex spouse touching that in many states...About the most you can do is file on him for there is only so many years they will do anything once child support has stopped...And every state is different... I would suggest calling a Lawyer within the state you had the child support orders done in. Most will do the first visit free in order to tell you what can and can not be done..
