More often than bears......they only eat a certain type of eucalyptus so wherever those trees are you will find them.
40 minutes north of me there is town called Noosa, and there is lots of those trees...you can get Koalas in the main st sometimes...they come out of the national park in the back of this pic.

Michele, I have held one and petted a roo, they are smelly and they do like to pee on you if you don't watch out, but a great experience all the same.

There are 4 main species of roo, and 50 odd smaller species in including various wallabies.

Yes we have rats but we don't eat them or anything.
We have tea and scones and Mary Poppins

A scone with strawberry jam and clotted cream mmmm delicious. Not very healthy but ok in moderation.
Best served with a nice cup of tea.
We do have the odd day where it's sunny and you can sit outside enjoying your afternoon tea, otherwise it's inside watching the rain pour down.

Depends what activities you want to pursue and where, but Sept/Oct is not to hot.....just nice...up here, already hot by late Oct.
