The Supreme Court has ruled that family owned and other closely held companies can opt out of the Affordable Care Act's provisions for no-cost prescription contraception in most health insurance if they have religious objections.

The owners of the Hobby Lobby chain of arts and crafts stores and those of another closely held company, Conestoga Wood Specialties Corp., had objected on the grounds of religious freedom.

The ruling affirms a Hobby Lobby victory in a lower court and gives new standing to similar claims by other companies.

Update at 1:15 p.m. ET: Ruling Puts Women At Risk, White House Says

"Today's decision jeopardizes the health of women" who work at the companies included in the court's decision, White House press secretary Josh Earnest said.

The AP reports that "Earnest said the White House is looking into how many women could be affected by the decision. He said Congress should take action to assist women affected by the decision."

So how does this put women at risk?

It puts no one at risk. The Court says the Government could pay for it if the employer didn't. We are not talking about any real money anyway. It was only abortion pills which aren't going to bankrupt anybody.

the govt law is

shall pass no law establishing a religion nor any law prohibiting
the free exercise thereof

forcing a company ran by the owner or closely controled by the
founder or their family thay can not be forced to set their religious beliefs aside for any reason that is prohibiting
the free exercise of their religion

why is it this country has come to the point that someone needs to take care of you per say if someone has a job it is obvious they get paid so take some of that pay n buy a rider from the medical insurance provider

or go work somewhere else no one especially an employer should have to adjust their beliefs to please anyone else as long as those beliefs do not maim murder or harm another
