the country has never not been 'racist',, its politics are certainly not 'anti racist' all of a sudden There is a significant, increasingly powerful, racist, manipulative hate-filled 'anti-racist' ideological movement which has infected liberal society in the US, and which has gained a lot of traction this past decade. What we need are movements that work to end actual racism, not the growth of an equally hateful and racist counter movement. |

I think the best 'move' would be to greatly increase the level of education at a young age. Now, bad behavior is tolerated in public schools which distracts other students. If education was enforced in all schools, the ability to exit the failing community would be given. |

If education was enforced in all schools, the ability to exit the failing community would be given. Education is the key. Another problem - keeping the kids in school. Keeping the kids in school, enforcing discipline, eliminating distractions, setting higher minimum standards, etc., is THE problem. Throwing money at the problem doesn't cure anything. In our history many were taught in un-airconditioned one room schoolhouses and received excellent educations because the teachers and parents required the children to be attentive and respectful. A good model would be the British system and Catholic schools which have few of the problems experienced in the US public school systems. |

Depends upon which part of Britain,, no offense
I lived there, and saw the level of 'education' first hand unless it is the higher education that is expensive most would come here and not be able to muster it,,,, but there is not as much of a need to have a paper just to make money or provide basics,,, and people do participate a lot in trades where they work for themselves,,,, |

The British is ranked 6th. Using the British system would be a huge improvement while not making a major change in culture. Hong Kong and Korea are both ranked higher than the British system but would result in impossible culture shock. I was referring to practical solutions to a horrible problem. I have been to Britain, Australia, New Zealand and many other countries. The British education system is effective. The US system is not in many areas due to cultural issues. |

well, because Britain is not a country but a group of countries, comparing it to the country of US, seems weird
but, it does depend upon which COUNTRY in Britain that we wish to compare Id rather emulate Canada, which has the highest college grad rate particularly in a culture in which such documentation does so much to draw lines between the classes,,, |
