Someone was bound to sue the National Football League sooner than later over Dez Bryant's Uncatch against the Green Bay Packers. And that someone is none other than 51-year-old Terrance "Terry" C. Hendrix ' an inmate at the Fremont Correctional Facility in Canon City, Colorado.

But Hendrix isn't filing this (handwritten) suit for himself. Rather, it's for us, all of us: "on behalf of Dez Bryant," says the complaint filed in Dallas federal court Wednesday, "on behalf of Dallas Cowboys Fans [and] on behalf of All People in and from the Sovereign Republic of Texas." All together now.

Hendrix is suing everyone responsible for overturning that call that fateful Sunday: the National Football League, its commissioner Roger Goodell, the league's director of officiating Dean Blandino and Gene Steratore, long known (on this Facebook page, at least) as "The NFL's Worst Referee." Says Hendrix, when Steratore decided that Bryant "never had another act common to the game" after he made The Greatest Catch That Wasn't a Catch in The History of the National Football League, the plaintiffs in this sure-to-be-tossed-out case "did suffer a true injury."

He's accusing the defendants of "fraud, theft and gross stupidity in the face of an undeniable catch." Clearly, he says, overruling the obvious stole a victory from Dallas that day, "because the Cowboys would have perfectly created an 'autobahn' for DeMarco Murray to drive into the endzone for the score and victory."

If Dez and Dallas couldn't win on the field, perhaps they will triumph in the courtroom thanks to Terry C. Hendrix. Or not. At all. (He has a bit of a history of filing frivolous lawsuits.) Still, fun for reading.
