Hello ladies and gents.

We live in the era of social networking and finding an LDR is not that difficult, the question is : Do you think that your LDR can actually work( and no don't google that question) ?

I believe they can and do work, but the two people involved really must want them to work, they are no easy option in my opinion. In addition to Skype calls, texts, etc, to keep in contact, you will need to meet up to get to know more about each other, initially to find out if you both want a relationship in the long term. The upside is that you can learn a lot about each other before you even decide if you want to meet up. The downside is the time spent apart, and the costs in travel and hotels to see them which you will need to do several times to really get to know each other. In my opinion before you start a long distance relationship ask yourself are you prepared to relocate if your partner is unable to, and don't under estimate the costs involved in visiting each other.

It works for some. One of the parties would eventually have to move.

Once the reality starts to kick in they begin to fizzle out. We want what we can't have.
