Hi Crystal! Thank you so much! flowerforyou I struggled a bit with the water on the bridge painting, but am happy with how it came out. The tree, yes, summer, maybe lying in a hammock, looking up... Horses have always been a passion of mine. The painting of the women is called "Dance of the Myalgias". I painted it while recovering from one of the worst pain flares I've ever had. I wanted the texture in there, along with the jarring colors and somewhat blurred edges to indicate the extent of the pain, and of going thru any type of pain when nothing helps. I have never painted with acrylics, oils, yes...

Missy, thank yo so much!smitten

and Pink, thank you too!flowers

Pansy, I've been drawing and painting since I could hold a crayon, lol...(I'm 48) the only training I've ever had was in high school! I have issues letting details go, lol... Thank you!flowerforyou

Rosemary-- no, thank you! for looking, and enjoying!

Yeah, it's weird, I used to do nothing but portraits in the past... somehow doing portraits had lost its appeal entirely when I started painting again after a 15 year break.

I get such a kick out of your work, Suz. flowerforyou

I've got to add another piece to my favorites list of things you've done. The flowers on this page (are they Irises?) are very cool.

Because you've got such a talent rendering detail, I'm going to ask: Have you ever painted any Tiger Lillies? If so, I'd sure like to see them.

Almost everywhere I've ever lived, I've planted some of those critters. They're probably my favorite flower.

Keep sharing your work, Ms. Suz. It's incredible. Your talent is mouth-watering. drinker

Thank you so much Scribbles! flowers I'm not sure if those are Irises, I took the source photo while on a mission trip in Guatemala. I loved the contrast between the color and silkiness of the flowers, the rough stucco, and the wrought iron. I have not yet painted any tiger lilies, but there are some pictures of them in my "things to paint" folder, lol... That folder is getting huge! I will be glad when my finger is up to par again....

Thank you SO much Joe... flowerforyou I thank my ancestors for passing the talent along, and God himself for blessing me in such a manner... It all means nothing without having people appreciate it!

A quick P.S., Ms. Suz - You render water better than anyone I've ever seen. One of my earlier faves, the one with the stork on the rock, caught my attention first; the scene on this page is equally astounding. I'm soooooo jealous! I can't render anything. All I can do is see - and drool

This compliment means a heck of a lot, water was a huge struggle for me for a log time. frustrated A trick I learned from another artist, turn both the source photo and the piece you are working on upside down. If I stop thinking about it as water, and think about it as colors and shapes, it looks more real when flipped back upright.

Everyone has a little artist in them, it's just finding the type of art that works for you. Writing is an art, I see things a certain way, but when I try to describe them, the words never come up to snuff!

Suz I love your stuff. I wish you would sell prints of many of them. I particularly like the bottles. I would hang that in my home any day. I would think the SPCA would love to sell your prints too. Awesome; totally awesome.
