Information that is unuseful yet garnered on JQ Public should NOT be stored to be used against them at a whim by their govt. That is blackmail, extortion, coersion, not to mention an invasion of rights and privacy, and against the laws set forth by our Constitution.

It is easier for them to convince us, out of fear for our safety, there is a "reason" we must give up our rights than it is to change them by an act of congress.

Rights can't be taken away without such an act, they can only be given away by the individual. We live in a Republic, NOT a democracy!

Even the lowliest among us has a voice otherwise the civil rights movement, womens sufferage, labor laws, the LGBT, etc., are all a farce

The govt assumes many powers, takes many liberties, it is not entitled to by good people doing nothing to stop them

To me - there are no black & white answers to what you say and yet when the question is laid out there; How would you have our CIA/NST agents go about their terrorist gathering capabilities...there is usually a silence that a 'pin drop' could be heard!
I have no answers for that - do you?

That was what always stymied our long drawn out exhausted discussions with my dearly departed brother and that was well over 25 years ago; and look how far technology has gone from those days of his installing a satellite receiver dish! We know what we missed and what happened 911 - what data/info will we need to protect us from another such horrific event; I'm clueless but I'm glad that we have agencies doing something.
