sure is, when i was in grade school it was world history then when i got to junior high it was civics then high school was back to world history. when i went to grade school in the city it was world history, in junior high i went to school out in the sticks and it was civics, than high school back in the city was world history again. i guess it depends on where you go to school.

I read a paper on the second amendment relating to it's meaning when it was written. Some now want the word "militia" to be equivalent to the term "National Guard". Almost all scholars agree that the National Guard didn't exist back then and has no relevance to the second amendment.

In Texas, common citizens known as "militia" rose up to fight for independence and their ability to fight depended upon the quality of their weapons and their skill in using them. In Texas, the meaning of the second amendment is clear and Texans are known for their guns and ability to use them.

Note the lack of success of the Islamic Terror attack in Garland a few days ago. One cop with a pistol gunned down two terrorists who shot first and were armed with AK47s.

The meaning of the second amendment was to allow the citizens to arm themselves in whatever way they thought appropriate and band together to defeat an oppressive government if necessary.

I was at a gun show about a year ago and spoke with the local sheriff. He said there was no chance of Obama's new gun restrictions being enforced in his county.

As it should be...

yepp, the militia is THE PEOPLE not the national guard. and yes the people are supposed to be allowed to arm themselves with whatever the feel necessary to defend themselves, from a single attacker, to a tyrannical government. government lawyers try to twist definitions around the way they see fit so they can change the laws. i know people will argue with me but ANY AND ALL gun laws are unconstitutional.
