Get his phone number and make your number private. I have men's phone numbers in a jar. Too many to count.

no your not being silly, its best to wait until you know him well enough.

I don't know if this is the case with everyone, because im from the uk, but I typed my land line number into google and my address came up, which I think is really bad. I only give my mobile number out now, because that doesn't show my address on google.

I can also block people on my mobile phone.

I'd never give a land line nr either... But I haven't had a land line for about a decade.

I'm always in two minds about giving my nr as well. I flatly refused at first, but these days I sometimes do. Men find it weird when you're so awkward, they get suspicious, start thinking you are the scammer. Fair enough.
But I usually don't give it unless there is a good vibe, mutual interest and we're about to meet. So never straight away.

I've also noticed men prefer to use their mobile phones over their PCs. When you give them your phone nr, they continue the chat on Whatsapp and leave the website you were chatting on, without even asking if you are okay with that?
I'm never happy with that. Typing on my keyboard with 8 fingers, blind, is a lot faster than using that stupid little screen, typing with 1 finger.

I'm guessing men like to sit on their settees, watch a movie, sports or whatever, and in between they chat with you? Been there before, having to wait for a reply each time. Turned out he was watching the F1. Then please FO! If you haven't got time to talk, then don't ask me to chat?! Don't make me waste my time sitting here, waiting for a reply. (I don't do that anymore btw, you live, you learn.)

So I only give my nr if we're about to meet.

I agree about the phone number. Not many I phone like my heavy breathing.

Pacific Stars and Crystal......this is exactly the kinds of reasons for me to be so stingy with my #. Thank you for helping to clarify my reasons.
Here in the US, we ALL have cellphones and very few still have landlines. I have been told by more than one person that even blocking my # when calling from my cell is no guarantee they can't somehow access it.
Again, it just gets frustrating when I get questioned so often on MY motives when it seems I am just being realistic and safe.
Someone said that I don't even need to answer when they ask why and that is what I'm doing from now on. Thank You flowerforyou

Someone also said I already knew my answer....yes, I do, however I like getting opinions from others in case there is something I hadn't though of.
Thank you everyone again for your thoughts on this. I am one who appreciates honesty when I ask for opinions. drinker happy happy
