A thought I drift from conversation to conversation, always alone, always an outsider. I drift and drift until, I become an observer, watching the crowd of souls before me. Some hiding from their past, some searching for their future. My vision is blurred. A salty droplet finds it`s way to the corner of my mouth. And I think of you. I see a couple walking through the crowd. A baby in her stroller eyes wide open, entranced by the new surroundings. No worries, no hatred, no fears. The innocence. I smile and I think of you. There is an old woman having trouble loading her bags in the trunk of her car. She is frail but not helpless, she is proud but week. I impose on her, my help. She reluctantly accepts but, gratefully gives thanks. I walk away and I think of you. When I am busy, I think of you. If ever I have a free moment, it is paid to you. When I feel lost, I find myself when I think of you. At the end of the day, as the sun completes it`s journey. The leaves dance on a breeze, a childs laughter is carried across the amber sky. As the moon takes it`s turn in the heavens and gently distributes it`s warm soft glow. I think of you. |
