Bring To Me Comfort and Calm

Where venerated, revered scholars meet, writers lionized, admired essayists, those who are like
The sacred bird born in flight in the soft torn, deeper echoes of night, it's wanton birdsongs tweet,

Enter we, there inside your scarlet chambers, through the dark woods of time, through your passions,
The loveless spiraling house, your castle damned, there planted in your grandiose gardens of sand,

Bell towers. Storms. Makes us weep. Leaves us cold in the infantile world of the richly well kept,
Out there in the earth's mire, dirt which in it's feeding blackness brings us strength - makes us grow.

I admire the angel in my window, wears her wings brightly adorned, draped across the golden hours,
And in the late afternoon, comforts me in my shadow place, this frightening world where I was born.

I was outside today and a mist of rain started to fall. As I walked through it, I thought instantly of your writings. I turned my face upward to take it all in.
