Take her somewhere casual, but that you know has good food. Maybe a nice cafe, if you want to go super casual. Try to figure out what she expects. Is it a dinner or a lunch date? Is she the sort of person that likes to be paid for? If you don't know, try to offer to pay for the meal, but don't be pushy about it. Don't go overboard on spending, though, since it's just a first date; gifts and such are probably not a great idea yet. Tell her about you, ask her about her, if you're still getting to know each other. Beyond that, relax. It's a first date, not a marriage ceremony.

Take her to the gym and see if she can fit:). But for sure don't take to the bar. Any museums or exhibitions around? Take her somewhere where u won't have to scream in order to hear each other. Or better yet get her Bouquet of flowers and go for a walk. Once u walked enough take her to some quiet dining place, and NO ALCOHOL. EVEN A BEER. Give her compliments about her looks and some feature of her body hair , eyes, hands , neck or what ever she's most proud of. Call her by name. The more the better. Let her talk - ask - what's the story behind this and that. Talk about her. Show ur interest in every detail about her. And be nice. Don't tell her how u with buddies did this or that. More romance and tender words. Women love with their ears. Good luck.

I'm thinking that going to a bowling alley together could be a great first date, if you are both into sports... what do you think? That's how my former co-workers established a bond... he was into her so he organized a bowling party for his team (he was a manager) - and she was on another team, so he invited her too... a year and a half later they are a couple! I remember how they hit it off, right there at bowling...!

I would take a first date to someplace public and memorable but not terribly expensive. Is there a university or nice public museum that will make her feel safe and respected. These places are usually quiet and allow you to talk and get to know each other. Be the gentleman and open the doors and keep your hands to yourself. A man who reserves himself by standing near and makes eye contact makes a much better impression than someone who is too aggressive. If you suggest that you would like to go to another event at the location she will know you are interested.

I would not buy her a gift unless it is some small inexpensive souvenir of the place you plan to visit. Like a patch for her shopping bag or a charm for a bracelet you could give her if the relationship takes hold. The idea is not to make her think you are trying to buy her affection.

You are an artist so you could visit the gift shop of the place you want to take her and frame a postcard with a hand drawn border and wrap that if she is someone you have wanted to ask out for a long time and already know.

Hope your date is wonderful.

Not enough information. What sort of girl is she? Is she the quiet type, or is it just you that's shy? If you're both shy it could be very awkward. You won't be able to handle the tension of the awkward silence and you'll probably end up talking a lot of shite.

Don't worry about it. Talking a lot of shite always works for me. Tell her any old bollocks. It doesn't really matter.

Have fun on your date and good luck.

Since you from Africa (and so am i) i will answer accordingly & honestly,

To the bar for a few drinks & some fun... Thats all it takes...its easier then stealing candy from a baby (in african culture thats how it is)
