Love impossible or possible?

Well, if it's determined to be impossible, then a lot of songwriters, poets, scientists, moms, married people, should be sued if they've ever discussed having loved somebody or how people experience love.

Give it time Tom, as the lawyers just have not figured out how to collect for failed love & relationships. If they had it figured out there would be endless commercials about collecting from a love that wronged you.

Lotus I still think it is possible, although it certainly seems more difficult this time around, and I still think it will eventually happen for you!

I would suggest that each of us makes love possible or impossible, by how we deal with it.

It's especially common for those of us who have had a very bad time of it romantically, to go through periods where we make extreme demands on "love" itself, almost as though we want the emotion and the romantic world itself to make up for having wronged us.

The mention of lawyers is very appropriate in that way.

I know that between my childhood notion that Mom and Dad would step in to make things "fair" when I was challenged as a kid, and the "promises" that Hollywood seemed to make to me again and again growing up, that I managed to develop the idea that Love was an actual Thing, and that I could "get" it, or have it "taken from me," if I played the system appropriately.

Basically what I'm getting at, is that I think love is more like an organic thing. A part of living existence, which, with every effort a person makes to artificially make it happen, that the real experience that love IS, becomes more remote to us.
