Why does "love" make you think "give"?

Love does not equal giving. Giving is part of loving someone. Receiving is also part of loving someone.
Most people have a problem with receiving, albeit love or compliments or whatever. Meaning a love relationship isn't equal.

People complaining "I give and give and give and get nothing back."
Really? I mean really? Did you not get anything back or were you unable to receive?
Or maybe you chose someone who couldn't give because you can't receive.

I think that in order to have a successful relationship there is, automatically, a need to put themselves 100 % into the other person's shoes, in every way, without losing their own sense of identity. I don't think that this is ever an easy thing to do and it takes a whole lot of maturity from both people involved.
