How do you tend to grade a RELATIONSHIP..?

I don't know about 'grading' a relationship.. I could 'categorize' the people/persons I know.. 'acquaintance', 'neighbor', 'business associate', 'close friend', 'friend of a friend'..

Yeah, this is another one of those questions that requires or suggests more questions before anyone can answer this one.

What are you talking about with this "grading" thing?

I've seen where people used the idea of "grading relationships" to decide which of the various people they've been trying out, to get serious about. And I've also seen even more often, that some people play an ego game with this idea, and "grade" people they have "dated" according to how much pleasure they got from them.

"Grading" people as though they are a side of beef, is a gross, selfish, and ugly business. I got my fill of people who indulge themselves that way a long time ago, and have no interest in hanging around that concept any more.

What Rusty Kitty said, is good for me. I can tell you where someone fits into the general organization of my life, but even then I'm not "grading" them, in any way. I will do more, and put up with more, for family than friends; I'll do more for friends than for coworkers and bosses; that kind of thing. But I don't need to GRADE anyone.

How do you tend to grade a RELATIONSHIP..?

By how good of FRIENDS we are, before, during & after.

Because the better friends your are the more loyal (in every aspect), & the longer it lasts. And the more 'civil' you are when it ends.
