I always pay not because I'm against both flipping the bill but I always feel like it's my job to pay. Not sure if that's normal or if maybe I'm a mental patient. Possibly both.

Seems like the guy is expected to pay. It's part of the men can't win scenario. It's probably best to just meet for a drink or coffee for the first meeting. That way you can decide if you want to go all out for the real first date. Us guys need to be careful because there are serial daters out there looking for a free ride.

My rule of thumb is the date has to last at least as long as it takes me to get ready. And at my age, that can be a couple of hours!!

Ahhh, such a touchy subject nowadays.
If I am asked out, I hope that my check is covered. I do offer to pay my share or at least leave a tip (if warranted). I do believe in fair play. I will take the check if the person has taken me out and paid the previous time. I am a firm believer that it all comes out in the wash. And, Sincere is a mental patient. Why won't you share the good meds the docs give you with me? |
