well i was writing a thing the other day as a new profile when i bust out laughing and wrote a little story about clones...

in a few years (randomly) we'll be able to completely destroy and get rid of all single sites as we know them... instead, if we have credit, we'll be able to go online and special order our perfect mate.

They'll have a template catalogue online with pictures of handsome men and women, with our choice of intellect, professional capacity and so on, and we'll be able to grow-a-mate...

i bet that vegas will have the first drive through "design-a-clone" in all the world. The thing that I can see, which most in this instant gratification can i get fries with that on the side, and oh i have a wish list of this and that, and they have to b like this and that, and do this and that and so on while we're busy demanding what we think we're entitled to demand is that these clones will become boring.

you see, there will be no passion... after all, if there is a clone that has been designed just by us to be what we want them to be, then they'll be flawless. never making a mistake, and always treating us as we thought we wanted to be treated when we ordered the clone, no make up sex, no good sex after awhile cuz they'll just always do the right thing in a way that we have designed them to be....completely clueless on one specific dynamic...

we'll change...

and we'll outgrow our clones... and then what? well we live in an instant gratification society of expectations, entitlements and a perception of deserving, and we'll do what we always do....

we'll toss them in the bin... of course most people by then will be "green conscious" and toss them out on recycling day and just go back online and order a new clone....

its a joke obviously, however, look around and see how you go about looking for a partner... with your wish lists and all the failed wishlists of what you expected in the past which obviously didn't come to pass or you wouldn't be on a single's site to find a partner....

Hmmm...that's definitely something to ponder. But you are right and you do make a good point. When I first started looking for a "partner", I was definitely looking for someone who was essentially perfect. Once I realized perfection was a made up, unachievable, unrealistic fantasy inside my head (thanks all to the overplayed media), I looked for someone who was like me. I have now learned to appreciate people for their flaws and imperfections because, in my opinion, that's what makes them "perfect". I look for "real" men and I constitute a "real" man as someone who isn't like what you see on t.v. or in the movies or in the magazines, but someone who is just like everyone else outside of hollywood. Someone who I don't feel i'm always having to compete for or bust my ass to be good enough for, but someone who loves me for me and someone who I love for them.

Am I really??? Awesome!!! I don't know. Maybe it's just me, but I can't stand those "Abercrombie Model" male types. They make me want to vomit. I like and want a real man. Someone who doesn't have the perfect body and isn't in perfect shape (that would make me feel insecure). Someone who doesn't have a smaller waste size than me (okay, that's just gross). Someone who isn't on a "diet" or is trying to lose weight -how femme is that?- (unless they actually need to). Someone who doesn't take longer to get ready than me (dude, you're a guy...put on some clothes and let's go). Somebody who doesn't have a "i'm better than everyone" complex (get over yourself). Someone who isn't so smart that I feel like I want to shoot myself everytime I talk to them (not that I can't keep up, but what's the point...get to it, already) or someone who isn't so stupid that even my brain is drizzling out of my ear...etc.

Well Living is deactivated, and yes it could have been an interesting debate, if allowed to become one through the Op.

However, personal agenda got in the way, methinks, klc.

No passion?????? No thanks!!! No clones for me!!! "I want a brave man, I want a cave man, Johnny show me that you care, really care for me" Ugh! It's what makes the man that turns me on!! I don't wanna create the man!! Boring!! Clones can't work. My history teacher told us a million(it seems like a million) years ago that in the future there would be no need for cash money! I couldn't figure that out and now here I am with my debit card and I never have much cash!! I don't need it. Everyone takes the debit card!

They made a clone of me, but all it wanted to do was tell dirty jokes and cuss. To get rid of him, I took him to a cliff, and pushed him over it. Now I'm in trouble for making an Obscene Clone Fall!laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh

you are wrong dear bl8ant. Maybe you don't know what a DEBIT card is. any "money" I spend using my debit card instead of cash comes right out of my checking account. I am not in debt. I don't own a credit card. If the money is not in my checking account, I don't buy it. Idiot yerself! laugh laugh laugh flowerforyou drinker smokin

donnar, I have no idea why he even responded to your question so negatively, perhaps he's a little jealous of your great spending habits!

Go read Dark Sky Legion by William Barton.

It is one of the better sci fi books, and better yet it doesnt have a happy ending. Heck, the future it portrays is pretty terrible.

But it has an interesting sub plot.

The pilot of a police ship is immortal... because the ship computer has DNA and memories stored in its data banks, and so whenever the guy dies he is cloned (or resurrected) and the clone's brain injected with memories of past lives (but not how he died or whatever was not uploaded to the ship's data bank).

I heartily recommend this to anybody who loves a good plotline and good sci fi ideas. The book is pretty adult, with swear words, religion, and other such adult fare par for the course.

Now go and buy this book Livingby beats... if that's your real name
