FARMINGTON, Conn. (AP) — Rapper 50 Cent has lowered the asking price for his Connecticut mansion again after filing for bankruptcy in the state this past summer.
December 18, 2015

The Hartford Courant reports (http://cour.at/1Ocr4YD ) the new listing for 50 Cent's 21-bedroom, 25-bathroom home in Farmington is $8.5 million. The rapper bought the 50,000-square-foot mansion for $4.1 million in 2003, but reports say he invested between $6 million to $10 million on renovations.

50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson III, first asked for $18.5 million for the home in 2007 and has been periodically reducing its price ever since. High-end residential real estate expert Rob Giuffria says "50 would have a better chance being a country music singer" than finding a buyer at $8.5 million.

Not really.

recent bankruptcy filing

There are different types of bankruptcies.
Businesses, rich people, use them to restructure debt, get out of paying liabilities.
When you have a lot of money it's just another financial tool like transferring debt on several credit cards to one card to save on interest rates.

lowered the asking price for his Connecticut mansion again

Multimillion dollar homes usually change listing price a bunch of times.
Very rarely do they go on the market for one set price and someone snatches it up immediately.
It's just part of market discovery.
Doesn't really mean much.

So
Sounds like his net worth is....wait for it,... 50 cents

it really sounds like he's just a 1%er, and using the tactics and tools to hide money, play the market, avoid debt and taxes.

Actually, he is filing bankruptcy because he just lost a major law suit for slandering the ex of wannabe Rapper Rick Ross or Officer Ricky as he is known in the music business. The guy used to be a cop and he is out there pretending to be a drug dealing gangster laugh
