What the hell ever happened to One on One sports..Ya know? Where winner takes all??..

Football approaches this plateau, then it falls short..

It is a team effort, with a good deal of hard knocks..But that is where it stops..

Full contact Karate..Getting there!!

Boxing, UFC, Pride..Cage Fights..That is where the glory is, and that i where the "guts" are shown..

Please, think about it..the purest 'sport' in the simplest terms!!

Well, I have to admit that I admire good athletes;per se..But, I most admire and emulate those who 'Lay it on the line' each and every time they practice their respective arts..

I boxed 'semi pro' for a number of years, and have found a home with these pugilists who are not afraid to "Go For Broke"!!

If this is as bad as it gets, my friend..I feel vindicated...LOL

tell ya what,, i have studied martial arts for years, and i play football for a semi pro team,, i think you would rather deal with me in a karate situation anyday. i can stop before i hurt someone doing that, in football,, its all bets off, be stronger than me or better than me or get run over

You have to be tuff to climb into a cage with another man,who is getting payed to break you..Its not a sport for the weak or faint hearted.But the respect the other fighters give you is worth every punch that lands

Thumper..I think I see what you mean..But..It has never been about if I am stronger or better..It has always been for the pure and sheer adrenaline of the full contact sport..

p.s..I played football too..but, I found that I much preferred the ring, where I had to do it on my own..Or sink...LOL

im diffrent than most players on the line though, i take 2 or more guys and am still my backs lead blocker, so after i take the nose and d tackle i have to go after their linebackers and safties

I liked playing on the line, Thumper..I always liked to 'finesse' bigger players..I took my share of lumps, but, at the end of the day, the other team knew that I was there..LOL..

If i was able to afford it my kids would have became black belts..my oldest could have been a black belt by Dec. if I didn't pull any of them out.

I like watching little league baseball.......something so exciting when someone hits a pop fly and you are waiting........waiting for the kid to catch it!!!

Don't forget about the "sport" of golf.

Golf - You use a stick to hit a ball into a hole and then you DRIVE a golf cart (or walk) to the next hole. Umm....yeah....

Sort of like hockey on a slowed down scale..Hockey..Another 'wimpy sport'...LO L

i've heard people say Nascar isn't a sport,that's bulls***.it's every man for himself on that track and only 1 person takes the trophy home!.you do rely on your pit crew to do a good job but your pit crew doesn't help the driver control the car on the track doing anywheres from 170-200 mph

Different sports require different athletic skills, soccer and basketball pretty much just require running long distances, and football is more of a sumo match with 10 players.

AND STOP BASHING GOLF! Jeez, the one sport I'm good at, EVERYONE hates.

yes its brutal...you skate back and forth,in pads and helmet,carrying a stick you cant hit with....omg how brutal


UFC IS THE ULTIMATE SPORT...try it you will learn

ever get hit with a frozen piece of rubber going 95 mph or banged into the boards by someone skating full force, oh and they don't fight, no gloves

yes i played football and ice hockey..they are good sports,but not the toughest...

when i fight we have to wear gloves,trust me on this..they are little more than prtection,from ripping your hand open on some one teeth.and 90% of checking is done from the blind side.all im saying is that you go into a cage with a trained fighter,that gets paid to smoke you...the more wins you get the better money you make.so it pays to be mean.
