Haley Strong, Balancing Running Mate for Trump.
![]() By Sandy Fitzgerald Tuesday, 12 Jan 2016 8:55 AM South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley is a "different kind of Republican," the Rev. Al Sharpton said Tuesday, and he thinks that she could be a powerful, balancing running mate for GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump. "I'm sure that tonight could launch her into a vice-presidential short list this year for the Republican ticket," the civil rights leader said of Haley on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" program."Here's a woman, a minority, and she tries to be moderate. She could balance a Trump [ticket] out." Sharpton said that he met Haley, who will give her party's response to President Barack Obama's final State of the Union address, when he went to Charleston after the massacre at Mother Emanuel A.M.E. Church last June, and remembered how she said she'd hug him, before they shared a hug at one of the funerals. During that service, Sharpton had said he spoke one-on-one with Haley, opposed to how she "usually sees me out the window marching on her," reported Mediaite. At the time, Haley responded, "If you would have come inside and held out your hand, I would have hugged you." Show host Joe Scarborough agreed a Trump-Haley ticket would be "interesting." "We saw her at her first gubernatorial debate, [and] we were impressed by her," said Scarborough. "I was impressed by what I saw. We went down to Charleston, and she was very impressive and she has to be on anybody's short list." http://www.newsmax.com/t/newsmax/article/70913/ Home - S.C. Governor Nikki R.
