you are to elect a person/s to be your representative/s but what you elect is non representative/s. you are to elect a representative for yourself, your views and values, not elect them by what they say, what say is " here a bucket of crap that smell like a dozen roses.

someone files a lawsuit against you, you hire an attorney for your representation, you go to court and your attorney represents the person who filed the lawsuit.

There were 1499 people who was running for the presidency, so now where is the freedom of speech when those who are Independent from parties, funding their own campaign. you are keeping their voices silent. they do not get to do any of those debates on national TV. your brain washed into believing Democrats and Republicans are your only choices.

Whether is 1499 or 10,000 they all certainly have the right to freedom of speech. However, They don't have the right(or expectation) to be HEARD. There are many parties, Marxist, communist, libertarian and so on.
People are not "brainwashed into believing Democrats and Republicans are your only choices" it's more that most clear thinking people see those two parties as the only real viable choice to win an election.
