Depends on what kind of close friend you got. Is it a buddy or gal pal you been hanging with for a while? I say no to this one..could ruin a great friendship.

Or is it a new close relationshippy kind of friend that you want to move forward with? I say Yes if you both are ready and comfortable with one another. But you have to have the physical attraction and chemistry for sure.

A good friend who used to be here would say, "Love is friendship on fire!"

I know it's cliche and somewhat of a platitude...but if done right....it's the most passionate, magical, connecting, spiritual, fulfilling sex there is.

In this case asking if sex ruins friendships is like asking if chocolate sprinkles ruins ice cream.

If you're both happy with it, it doesn't matter really I spose.
But I have had one good friendship ruined by it. And another almost. We were very close friends. We had that soulmate kind of feeling. We both realized at the same time it didn't really feel right and that having sex would ruin our friendship, and our friendship was way too precious to both of us. So we adjusted our clothes, lol, and never spoke of it again.
Sometimes having sex is not the best thing to do with a friend.

I would rather she be a friend before I have sex with her. The Alternative is only having sex with strangers. NO thanks. If I don't have feelings for her (other than lust), it would feel too shallow and unfulfilling for me.
