Two true stories I remember from my younger days, both about colleges.


At one college a group of activists were handing out cards to promote safe sex. On the card it said, "If you just Have to have sex, use this." And stapled to the card, through the center of the package, was condom.


At another college a survey was taken asking students what practices they were using to prevent pregnancy. One female senior said, "I don't do anything about it. Only married people get pregnant."

I think, the last time I looked, this had reached High Schools...and that was when my kids were going there...20 years ago...just saying...

i have met people who were college educated,, as far as common sense they did

not have clue....in other words emotional wrecks....on the other hand i have

known some who really have it together....success is a state of mind...

College attendance or not does not insure any necessary common sense just as 51 per cent of all pregnancies are unplanned...Fuzzy logic to dismiss collegiate life and degrees.

Anti intellectualism is simply a way to dismiss others who have achieved a modicum of education beyond high school.Rather than appreciating education it is necessary to disparage that which is envied. Education while not a panacea, affords many a direct access to a better quality of life, lifestyle and social mobility which others may find envious...

Anti intellectualism happens because pseudo-intellectuals look down on under educated people. Perhaps if these two groups would stop being aholes to each other, we might be able to work thru the present problems we face.
Unfortunately, like Israel and Palestine, Reptilicans and Libotards, Left and Right, these groups may never see any working arrangment.
I have a bachelor's in computer science. I don't like to comunicate with people to show them a ridiculously uselessly large vocabulary. I prefer to use common sense. Studies show that 62% of college graduates show very little use of common sense, or relatability skills. So I guess some of these poor grads will probably never really allow themselves to truly let go and learn.
That's why I prefer people from the desert south west. They never pay attention to race, social status, or creed. We all live under the sun. We must all survive. The spirit of the Myans, Toltecs and Aztec's still flows in all these people. Even Anglo here have a respect for all races. That's why I love it here and you could never pay me enough to move anywhere else.
