So I got tired of the constant fetch quests in World of Warcraft, so I'm trying out Guild Wars. So far its a solid game, I'm only a level 3 hunter and already have a good bow and a panther that attacks enemies.

My only complaint so far is that all the charactors are too pretty. Some look cool like Necromancers, but the rest are just pretty boys and super model women.

Its an online RPG thats easy to pick up and play, for people who don't have time to level up characters all day.

And if I have to explain that, I'll type it in spanish!

Guild War is awesome. You'll love the christmas events. You can hunt for candy canes and candy weapons. Too bad they nerfed it though cause you used to be able to sell that stuff year around. Candy has good effects in battle...

I have it the three main campaigns. I have played since beta and its a lot of fun. I havent really beaten any of the campaigns cause I mostly play pvp when I do play. The great thing is you dont have to buy the expansions and there is no monthly fee. I played a ranger as my first character during the original game and I while they don't have the damage of other classes they are good at surviving. (they have gotten better damage moves through expansions.)

Other than the fact that it's free, I don't really care for it. You can't jump down a small hill...even if it's only like a foot drop. The enemies are repetitive and you'll be seeing the same ones for a long time.

No one groups, and there's not really a community to speak of. In WoW you will constantly party up with friends and/or guildmates.

In Guildwars, everyone is too busy with their own thing to ever want to party up. Granted, you can get your own NPC party, but then it sort of defeats the purpose of an MMORPG. Everything outside of towns is instanced, so you will never run into anyone else outside of town. Further taking away from finding friends for future gaming.

Before you get the wrong idea, it's not that I don't like Guildwars, it's a solid game, but it's not somethign I would ever pay a monthly fee for, nor buy any of the expansions.

Actually, the creators originally said that Guild Wars wasn't really an MMORPG based on the game design. This game is build more around PVP than PVE. There is no, "I just play more than you so I have better gear and a higher level so you have no chance to beat me " crap. Its more about strategy and working as a team. Also in my experience in PVE its actually better to take the NPCs than people. You can order the NPCs to do what you want and you know they have good builds, especially if you have heroes. (Heroes are NPCs you can get in one of the expansions and you level them up and decide what skills and weapons they have) People can be really stupid and get you killed time and again.

Guild Wars Rocks, its perfect for the people who play all day and for people like me who only have a limited amount of time to play each week. The use of heroes and henchies is great also, somtimes its a lot easier to just do a mission by yourself then to wait for a party to join or invite you.
I really like the pvp a lot, it helps you get a feel for what type(s) of character you enjoy playing the most, only complaint is for the late comers like me who don't get accepted into Heroes Ascent because i didn't get the chance to earn rank before everyone decided to exclude the rankless people. I understand why, It just pisses me off.
other than that it's a solid game with original story and design, no monthly fee's and if you're not interested in a expansion no need to buy it. Plus for the casual player like me, not having to relearn a billion different things every time i play is good, what can i say other than its fun in its simplicity. the only other complaint i have is, i would like to see mounts come to guild wars 2. I'm not sure if this is feasible for the game structure, but hopefully they will come up with something, even if its only feasible for select portions of the game.

mounts in guild wars not really needed and plus it would make it to where i cant charge a ridiculous amount of gold for droks runs or any other runs really

It'd be nice to have some friends in game. If any of you are playing, my user name is Conan O Bryan (he's a barbarian).

Yeah, it's kind of funny. I'll be in town and hear someone go, "Oh My God! It's Conan O Bryan!"

Guild Wars? I have it (regular and Nightfall) and still I don't understand the concept pretty well.

The bad slide is that I have to select NCP character to join since I can't do on my own and the monsters are in groups. The trade is super expensive. I only have 900 gold on GW and 1 platinum on Nightfall (nightfall is much easier). You can level 'til 20, no more no less which sucks. And it's a big map of area in GW but hell I can't go further since I can't jump. At least it's free... when you pay almost $45.00 for the software.

I've played COV, and Guild Wars, but nothing compares to WoW, I botherd me that in Guild Wars you can jump! It has nice graphics though, and City of Villians, was neat for Character customization, but in wow, the game really starts at 70, that's what's so great about it. So much to do :D

I was never really a fan of WoW, or of Guild Wars. Though I have to say, Guild Wars reminded me of a slightly lesser version of EQ2 which is what I play. That and it's free to play online which is a plus.
