It seems no matter where you go, the way in which a Burger is constructed never seems to be right in my opinion. I will give you the list of ingredients to build your burger "the proper way" and see what everyone comes up with:

Crown (Top Bun)
Onions
Tomato Ketchup
Cheese
Beef Burger
Lettuce
Bottom (Base Bun)

So reorganise these into your ideal Burger, the list should be crown at the top and Base Bun at the Bottom with your reordered burger, this order being what I think it should be, and for those people that think it doesn't matter what order your burger should be in, clearly don't appreciate a good burger!

Also after reordering, specify if you would add or remove any ingredients

All the ingredients above also adding beetroot and egg

The order doesn't matter, it's making sure you have all them

Try adding pineapple
Oh my gosh it's sooö nice

When you use the pineapple replace the meat pattie with a ham steak.

Yes, jalapeno peppers (mild) very common here.
Pepperoncini is also peppers, but more just crispy
and tangy, you canna tell they are peppers :-)
Also common here.

Do you grill your burgers outside?

Yes and turn the top and bottoms of the bun. Cheese goes on the top. grill then make up
the burger is huge but worth it.
Home made is the best.
Tomato sauce and Mayo is a must or its too dry.

Mixing the meat - use only Extra Lean meat... and if ya can find a butcher that will grind up a tenderloin steak, even better..

Here is what I generally do.. I mix an egg or two, with some panko crumbs and sometimes I will also add some onion soup mix.. Then this mixture, I add to the meat, then I make patties.
OR
mix an egg or two with some stove top stuffing (that you've already mixed up) and add to the meat and then make up the patties..
THEN
I start up the BBQ
When the patties are on the BBQ, I get the cheese slices ready and the BBQ sauce..
When I flip the patties, I add the BBQ sauce and cheese....
Toast the buns when the burgers are done..
Condiments are onions, tomato, relish, mustard, hot pickles..
delish.
no room for salad.or dessert..
wash it down with a cold beer.

sometimes I chop/dice up the onions and add them to the hamburger mix.
most times I like them just sliced raw on top of the cooked burger; I've tried them carmelized/fried and prefer raw - as for variety of onion? sweet, white, yellow, red,.. they're all good.
I may add that I too, consider myself a 'connisseur' of the hamburger cuisine.. I've tried all the fast-food ones that we have around here...if I am at a diner/restaurant I will ask them if they make the burger meat themselves or if they are preformed..
I forgo the latter.

Mostly on my line of thinking... I like diced and mixed. Kinda like a meatloaf on a bun .drool

Although I think I would put the pineapple slices on top griled or raw .
