Oh these problems are so difficult! My nephew looves to watch pink panther even if he's downstairs, he can "sense" you changing the channel. I usually have a Pink Panther dvd set up downstairs for him , when i wanna watch my shows but if you only have one tv just tell him no and that its mom's turn he can watch it later, if he whines about that sit him in timeout and tell him if he doesnt behave he wont be able to watch it at all. i dont know is worth a try flowerforyou

You should tell him no and set a time for him to watch tv. Dont give in to him and buy him his own tv then he will expect the same for other things as well. That is unless you have that kind of $. My thought is that you are the parent and they are the kids. Tell them to go outside and play or something.

I just imitated the voices and poked fun at it a bit. Just roll with it, it'll pass over. Yeah it's annoying, but I noticed a difference between kids who watched that stuff and those who didn't. They actually learn from that stuff even though it's just 'brain fodder' to us.

You know I really don't have the $$$ to cater to his wants. But man I'm very tired of watching those movies or even hearing the songs. At work I find myself sing those songs. How embarassing is that?laugh

my son hated barney and elmo thank goodness but drove me crazy with dora the explora...vaminos.My son has his own TV so when I get sick of his current loves then i send him upstairs.
With your son I would tell him its mommy's time to watch TV and then set him up with a barney/elmo picture book that makes sounds so he can get his fix and you can do your thing.
