not here to have a literary debate, I explained in what context I use the word

: to reflect in or as if in a mirror <“Why is the sea such a color?” he asked. “Sea mirrors sky,” his father replied. — Pearl S. Buck, The Big Wave>

see here? mirror doesn't mean the sea looks EXACTLY like the sky but indicates its color is the same,, one part

other Christians mirror some of my values and not others

other women mirror some of my opinions but not others

.,,,we can move on now,,,

You are using the definition of mirror that doesn't reflect (pun intended) or apply to YOUR original statement.

Also you are inserting the qualifier "some" in your comparisons which didn't appear in your original statement. If you would have used the same qualifier in your original post I would have agreed.

Nice unsuccessful try at defending your erroneous first statement.

said it, explained it,,, move on:wink:

You said what? That you were wrong to paint Trump supporters with a broad brush?
You tried to explain that I didn't understand what your original statement meant rather than admitting you were wrong.

I'm moving on because I want to, not because you are telling me to and surely not because you "explained it" away. I'm more interested in a piece of birthday cake than arguing today.

nope, that there is something in a candidate that is a mirror of there supporters

not the same thing for every supporter, but something about them is a reflection of something in their supporter

its not wrong, you are just stuck on an idea that the English language can only be used one way,, no matter how many examples I give otherwise

its not hard to understand

You're right, it's not hard to understand what you are TRYING to do, and insinuating I'm not intelligent enough to understand what you are saying is insulting. You just said "nope, that there is something in a candidate that is a mirror of "THERE" supporters"....I understood you meant "THEIR"....I also KNOW that you know the difference between "their and there". I won't insult your intelligence for making a mistake, I ask that you extend the same respect by not making insinuations about my intellectual aptitude to understand what you've said.

Once again you are using a qualifier to spin what you originally said, this time using "something" instead of "some". With your ORIGINAL statement you didn't use ANY qualifiers.

If someone votes for Trump ONLY because they hate Hillary they may not mirror Trump in any way, yet they will still support him with their vote. Get it???

Many words in the English language can have different meanings depending on the context in which they are used, I'm not "stuck" on anything except how you use "mirror" in your original statement. I haven't taken what you said out of context, you are trying to add context after the fact to your original statement to change the meaning of what you said.

I'm done, unless you backhandedly insult my intelligence again.
Go ahead and respond if it makes you feel better or like you won something with the incessant spinning your original statement.

lol, seriously?

not just issues,, the whole subscription,,,

ok, perhaps some idiots vote a candidate just because they 'hate' the other

I mean, I absolutely cant stand the idea of trump as pres,,but if someone else that reflected none of my priorities or concerns was running, I just wouldn't vote

seems a lot of effort to get to a polling location and wait in line in support of one person JUST to show 'hatred' of the other,, ,,,

its not something I had considered,, I mean you are still voting 'for' the other candidate, hadn't imagined people would be that hate filled

but hey, if you can gun people down because of hatred,,

you win, except the slim nutcases who go to extremes to show their 'hatred', MOST people vote for a candidate based upon SOMETHING in the campaign that is reflective of their own interests or priorities or values

I've followed the money,
and I'm not a Trump supporter.

However, come election day, I'll vote for Trump.

24 years of H.R. Clinton FAIL, has been enough.
