Second Walsh adminstration official indicted on extortion charges, federal prosecutors say

A second high-ranking member of Mayor Martin J. Walsh’s administration was arrested Wednesday for allegedly forcing the Boston Calling music festival to hire unneeded union stagehands for concerts on Boston City Hall Plaza.

A grand jury indicted Timothy Sullivan, the city’s acting director of intergovernmental relations, on charges of conspiracy and extortion, according to US Attorney Carmen Ortiz’s office.

A seven-page indictment alleges that Sullivan colluded with the city’s tourism director, Kenneth Brissette, to withhold permits from the music festival until it hired union stagehands from the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Local 11. Brissette was indicted on similar charges in May and the new indictment added another count.

What a surprise.
There is a reason they go for 'public office' and it has nothing to do with the constituents.

Several years back, a candidate for governor here in Texas, spent over
3 million dollars of his own money on his campaign. He lost, but why would someone spend that kind of money for a job that pays $150,000 a
year?

We have the best politicians that money can buy.

Indeed we all do.
Let the public office jobs go for 50k a year and we'll see then who wants to be a "decider"
