Someplace cold and different.
I know.
North Dakota in the winter.
You would be all bundled up and throwing snow balls and making snow angels in no time!
We can build a fort and challenge other people to a fun battle then all go in a warm by the fire drinking hot cider or steamy sweet hot chocolate.
We will take a midnight snowmobile trek thru the woods and ice skate on a pond by firelight.
We can lay back on our snow couches and stare at the stars while we wish on them.
We can make a snow couple and dress them up for a night on the town or a romatic getaway.
When its all said and done I'll give you a bag of snow to take home with you to remember our fun.

I like that. I watch a lot of movies and they are best when shared with a cuddle. Thank you!

Okay, something different.

I know of an out of the way cave system just outside Blairsville, Pennsylvania. Not a whole lot of people know about it because we found it while trail blazing in the 4x4 while I was in college.

Its a squeeze to get into it but it opens up after about 35 meters.
There are mineral formations that gleem with colors when you shine a light on them. It remains a cool 68 degrees all year round and has crystal clear mineral water that feels great and makes your skin really soft.
There is a 'room' with a sand floor that is perfect for pitching a tent.
A vent clears the smoke from a campfire and there is plenty of wood outside we can haul in.
In some parts of the cavern it gets pitch black. But everything echoes.
We can play echo location for a kiss or more if you want. I've played it with women from the college naked but we would need to be totally comfortable with each other for us to do it. Just know, I wouldn't complain, lol.

Since the area is pretty much uninhabited (Owned by the railroad) we can leave the huge cooler with food and drinks in the truck and just take soft side packs in the cave with us.

There's plenty of wildlife (small game mostly) to watch for and its a small hike to get to the bluffs to watch the trains go by. There is a river down by the tracks that we can do a small float trip on. We may not want to do that tho because walking back to camp all wet is gunna suck.

We put a swing up in a tree way back then that sends you high out over the water. Its been 30 years+ so I doubt its still there.

I'll get you a chunk of stalagtite to take home with you so you can remember our excursion into spelunking.

Edit for spelling because echo is not spelled excohe and I dont really want to look like a complete idiot if you know what I mean?

Amazing picture in my mind right now.
I live on the beach on the south coast and I love the water and the beaches.
I've seen pictures of your island and seen the mountainous terrain in movies. Would love a tour. You can show me the sights and point out your wildlife.
Fire dancing sounds amazing! I love old tribal customs of different cultures.
I once saw a fire organ presentation in Ithica, New York in the winter - It was amazing and so eerie sounding.
I love any kind of fruit juice including coconut. You can make it if you let me help you. I love talking and relaxing. Many a fine night in my younger days around a firepit or campfire trying to figure out the Universe. That's Fun! Waves and crickets and the sound of someone breathing close by. What is there not to love?

Hmmm, gotta really impress you. But, I don't really know you that well. Lets see...
Okay, how about...
Wait, that's not good enough, hang on...
okay,
We start the day at my place. I have you open all the cupboards and drawers and look where everything is at. (Yeah, I roll my clothes not fold them.)
We take an assessment of the food I have. Those doubles are just prep stuff just in case.

We make a list of some items and head out to the stores.
Our first stop is Froogles and small cost-plus grocery store where we get the staples and non-quality stuff on the list. Then its off to Claiborne Hills for some of the higher quality stuff I will need for the sampling bonanza of food I am going to make for you. Finally we head down the highway to Rouses Market for the high quality stuff that is the focus of the samples. We didn't buy a lot because it will just be you and I. On the way home I take you past the two casinos and a catacomb of docks and piers.
We stopped and watched the gulls. I pulled out a big bag of popcorn and had you throw hand fulls into the wind and the gulls just flocked around us, hovering before us to get your next morsel of goodness. Your giggles gave me goose bumps.

We head on back to the apartment. You didn't want to get out of the truck because I let you forward thru my drive to pic the music on the stereo but I assured you we I have that song on my stereo and you can listen to it again in surround sound on the huge loudspeakers. My neighbors never complain and btw, they aren't home today anyway, She's a nurse and is gone for days at a time and she just left for her shift last evening. Really nice woman, you would like her.

We bring in the bags and I sit you down in front of my TV, which is my computer monitor and pull up my music collection for you. You scroll and scroll and scroll, Is it ever going to end? I show you how to start a song and leave you to pick out some music while I get our food extravaganza started.

Since its early still, I start us off with some fresh strawberries stuffed with cheesecake. I put out a sliced Georgia Peach and some apple slices. I pop the cover off the caramel dip and pour some berry syrup in a squeeze bottle. A few assorted sweet crackers and biscuits on a tray and I'm back in the kitchen working on our next Taste of the South entry in your sampling extravaganza.

Oh, I noticed you were done looking at the music. You have 108.6 hours of music in a playlist. LOL, its easy to do. I ask if you can move the songs you really want to hear to the top and kill all but about 3 hrs of them. But keep in mind some of the peaceful ones for later tonight. I show you how to do it on my system and you drag and drop for awhile.

Meanwhile, I'm in the kitchen humming to the music and cooking my butt off.
I have both crock pots going, and every burner on the stove is hot, the oven is cooking and I even have the toaster oven and microwave going.
I'm sticking things in the freezer and taking them out. Cracking ice and sifting and stirring and having a good ole time and I look up and you are sitting there looking at me and we start to laugh.

You have your list set for 3.5 hours. I come over and shrink down the player and click a button under the desk beside your left leg and my external hard drives whirl to life. There is a series of acquisition screens that pop up on screen that I dismiss and I open two windows. One says Movies and the other says Movie Sets. Your music is still playing and I notice you grooving and it looks sexy as hell. Your hair smells wonderful as I show you how to navigate my movie collection. Just drag the movie you want to see to the desktop and I will unzip the file for a playlist for later.

Back in the kitchen, wow, the whole house smells amazing! Back in the kitchen I'm busy taking stuff out of the ovens and switching racks, Emptying pots and switching pans. You hear the water running and you look and I am busy scrubbing pots and pans and mixing bowls. You look back to what you were doing and I'm now at the freezer, I come running with some cold cream puff for you to try. There's two regular and two with chocolate coating. I set the plate down and off I go. You look up and...I'm gone?
Here I come down the long hallway ...I hada pee. We laugh.
I wash my hands again and come see how you are doing with your movie selection. Um, dear, You have two weeks of movies picked out. Can ya whittle it down to two or three.

Back I go to the kitchen, more stove, more sink, some cupboard action and bingo... I come in and sit down. You spin around and we start talking. You want to know what I have a cookin. I won't tell you. You start to tickle me. You know, I'm gunna remember this. Finally I tell ya.

Well, we have rolls and biscuits. Fresh homemade bread with real whipped butter. My sister's meatball recipe with the sweet sauce. Three kinds of pasta, brown rice and my famous mashed potatoes. We have honey cinnamon yams and marinated sweet potato slabs. Home fries and three cheese omelet.
Pickled eggs, pickled quail eggs and an assortment sweet and dill relish tray. There is shrimp rice-a-roni (a San Fransisco treat), Trout and river bass (small mouth), crispy catfish nuggets and 5 different sauces. Thee are alligator sausage bites on a stick, beef shish-ka-bobs and BBQ chicken thighs. White cheddar soup and craw-fish gumbo.

I point you to the bar and let you decide if you want a drink. I have watermelon daiquiri mix and white peach mix. I have rum runners berry and I can mix you up a dreamsicle or a bomb-pop fizz. I also have ice tea, lemonade and an assortment of soft drinks and juices, I even have some nice Moscato chilling. There's Perrier in the fridge and I have a huge assortment of flavorings. Cotton candy? Blue raspberry? Tangerine white chocolate?

For dessert we have blueberry brickle, waffle ice cream sandwiches and something I just threw together that has fruit and fruit jams and sweet biscuits with whipped cream and chocolate/butterscotch syrups drizzled over it. If you like it You can Name it.

You see that the portions are small. Its a sampler not a feast. I direct you to the kitchen and tell you to help yourself. we have a feast of small all afternoon and into the early evening. Lots of talking and even some singing and dancing. You notice that as we empty I wash and put away. There is no real work to be done when we are finished eating. A few straggler dishes that I'll do up later, no biggie.

Stuffed and happy we hit the beach for some relaxing in the surf. The sun starts to fall away and we return to watch a few movies you picked out. Wow, great taste in couples movies! We cuddle up on the sofa with our drinks and snacks and settle in for a cinema night. I turn up the surround sound and all the tinkles and chirps feel like they are all around us.

Ooh, sorry, I dozed off in your lap. It was amazing when I woke to see your big beautiful eyes on mine. You have such a pure smile. When the movies are done, well the last one doesn't count because we weren't really watching it. We went out on the porch and talked. I put a fire log in my grill (someone stole my firepit at the beach one night). That blanket I have you wrapped in is a gift from my daughter. Its so soft and warm. Then, before we know it the sun is peeking out behind the trees.

There's clean towels over the dryer and you can go have a shower then I'll take you to catch your morning flight.
It was really wonderful having you here. I wanted you to have a chance to see how I live and taste the foods that I like. Here is a cold pack and some leftovers for you to take home with you. Plus, I made a copy of the songs you picked out and put them on this USB stick along with all the pictures we took.

Damn, I wish she didn't have to go home!

That sounds really fun! A bunch of cool stuff to do and see.
Are you trying to wear me out?

Already thought about where to take you, was just waiting for the chance to tell you to come around on the guitar again.

I would load up my 4x4 truck (It has no speed limitations so distance is never a factor) with light camping gear. I'd pack a crate and my big ice chest with assorted goodies and what-nots. Yes, I remembered condiments and dinnerware (I've been known to forget that stuff, lol). It has one of those 'always full' gas tanks.

I show you how to work the USB drive and let you pick out the music and the volume. Good, this truck doesn't move unless we are wearing our seat-belts.
Hey, there is some refreshments behind the seat in the soft cooler if you need a snack, just help yourself.

We arrive (I told you my truck was fast) at the Kinzua Dam, on the Allegheny River in Warren County, Pennsylvania and head down a beaten trail. We cross over some muddy washouts and arrive at a clearing that overlooks the water. I explain that under that water is 10,000 acres of Seneca Indian lands that was lost to history when they flooded the reservoir. After a short foraging, I present you with an old weathered Indian arrowhead that I dug up from the ground.

The Seneca were the largest of six Native American nations which comprised the Iroquois Confederacy or Six Nations, a democratic government that pre-dates the United States Constitution. I explain that this is the stomping grounds of The Cornplanter tribes.

We have a small snack of apples and plums with some popcorn. As we head out we pass a few monuments to the Seneca Indians and Cornplanters. We stop and take pictures and check them out.

ZOOM, Off to our next destination.

We arrive in Kimmswick, MO in no time.
Before we explore the Mississippi river trails we board the Delta Queen Steamboat for a paddle wheel adventure on the river. The Delta Queen Steamboat Company was founded in 1890 and originally known as The Greene Line. We do a short trip to Sainte Genevieve and back enjoying the Ragtime live music and sampling the different apple butter treats.
Back at the truck, we load our souvenirs into the empty trunk I brought along just for them.

We head south on hwy 67 down thru Festus and catch 61 south. At Bloomsdale we hit the mud trails where Custom Differentials holds their Mud Runs. It happens to be mostly dry so we just run the trails and get back on 61 south and head down to the Lime Mines of Ste. Genevieve. The trails are dusty and white. Not really a lot of fun so Back on 61 south to St Mary where we head East into Kaskaskia, Illinois. We cross the bridge and take a steep dive to the left and onto the old Mississippi riverbed trails. Now we have some mud! The mud kicks up in a display of brownish black fountains at all four wheels coating the sides of the truck in a goopy layer of silt. We get stuck but a quick maneuver brings us safely out of the bog to drier land.
We find a spot where the small stream that was once the Mighty Mississippi River once flowed.

We head into Kaskaskia and check out the quaint little town. A population of merely 14. The site of Kaskaskia near the river was first a Native American village, inhabited by varying indigenous peoples for thousands of years. Most of the town was destroyed in April 1881 by flooding, as the Mississippi River shifted eastward to a new channel.
We continue down 61 south to Perryville where we pressure was all that mud off the truck at a truck wash. A quick jaunt across the river to Chester, Illinois to see Popeye and have a bite to eat in the old Chester diner.

we get some photos of the Goon and the live characters before we head out once more.

Zoom, Back where we started, um, hey dear...You have mud on your ear, hang on...I got it. Before you head on out I reach down deep in my pocket and pull out a dirty old wooden cross bound with some kind of leather. I found it near where I found the arrow head and wanted to give it to you to remember our day together. I had fun. I hope you did too.

This whole fantasy adventure, make believe stuff has been fun and amazing. But, I think I would like to come back to reality now...at least for today.

I would take you out for coffee, or whatever you'd like to drink. Enjoy each other's company and get to know each other better.

Coffee in a small cafe someplace would be just wonderful.

I'll take you to the beach to sit on a blanket and look at the beauty of this wonderful planet and the inner beauty of our spirits. We will speak of things that were, things that are and things we hope to be. An Enlightenment of Spirits.
