The Indian state of Punjab is undergoing a severe water crisis. Once an agricultural leader in India, it’s now turning into a desert. Farmers and other rural dwellers are going bankrupt over the need to pay for water delivered from other regions. In this drastic situation, the number of suicides has skyrocketed, but the authorities deny that people are killing themselves over the water shortage.

I couldn't agree with you more.
There are two threads, on Michigan.
One to recall the governor, one for Flint.
And a 3rd on water in the USA.

The majority, wanted to slam Michael Moore, & talk about bottled water.

it's more simplistic than that... 1.2 billion people in a country a little bigger than Alaska...

it will only get worse as they keep breeding...

I recall seeing a BBC documentary about Las vegas and how the state had set out to beautify its surrounding landscape and make it a lush garden like Eden at the expense of drinking water.

How they dug this canal/channel to bring water in and its just a complete waste of a very valuable resource.

On top of that you have the big companies who sell you water by the litre, and financially gain from selling you what is everybody's God given gift!

Has anyone (in that documentary or in this thread) thought of using new technology to solve the problems of water shortage or pollution? If not, then help me get my solution off of the ground. I welcome whatever help I can get.

While I'm aware that documentaries are meant to bring awareness to a specific topic, I don't support ones where people comment on the issue but don't help make the issue go away.

The Indian Peninsula is surrounded on all three sides by water.....but like Australia, it is expensive to convert this water into drinking water. And the Punjab is located to the extreme north of India....so getting the water there could be a huge and expensive task. Its time time for population control, otherwise it could get even worse.....already, I believe, from friends who live there, hydro is rationed out...it means basic essentials are already being affected....food will surely be next....just saying...."Waste not Want not"....should be the new mantra.....Oh! yeah, we do waste a lot in North America....
