A video has emerged appearing to show Venezuela’s president being chased by an angry mob.

Grainy mobile phone footage purportedly showed Nicolas Maduro being jeered and pursued by dozens of pot-banging protesters on the Island of Margarita, some 40 kilometres from the mainland.

Activists say more than 30 people were briefly detained following the incident on Friday while a local lawyer has still not been released.

The Venezuelan government has not commented on the alleged confrontation, but the country’s Information Minister Luis Marcano, accusing the opposition of manipulation, published a video on Twitter showing Maduro blowing kisses and being cheered.

Maduro had apparently been on the holiday island to inspect a state housing project.

The incident follows Thursday’s mass rallies in Caracas.
The opposition say more than a million people marched in the Venezuelan capital in an effort to pressure the country’s electoral authorities into allowing a recall referendum.

I wonder what that's like.

A president that actually goes near a crowd that hasn't been background checked and cherry picked to be supporters.

That isn't surrounded by billions of dollars worth of people with guns, helicopters, snipers, bullet proof glass, armor.

That didn't close down miles of traffic and pedestrian ways to go anywhere.

I wonder if this happened to Obama how long it would be before background checks would be mandated on the purchase of pots.
"One pot a month" rules enacted by states.
"High capacity packaging" limits for wooden spoons.
"The constitution doesn't specifically mention cooking pots. It implies people have the right to food. You don't technically need pots to feed yourself so it's outdated! The founding fathers didn't have the type of pots they have today with the teflon and woks!"

And then "it's not a cooking pot problem, it's not a high capacity spoon packaging problem...Banging pots don't chase people, people with too much energy chase people. It's a health problem! Some people are too athletic. We need to do better in handling people that can wander around! We need to enforce the laws already there, states are supposed to report people that can chase!"

But... People love being deprived of food,

Proof that socialism is a good thing.

I blame the Venezuelan people. They voted for this crap. They believed Chavez now they are suffering for it. This is what happens when there are more stupid voters than smart voters. You know, kinda like we have had for the last 2 Presidential elections. If Hilliary is elected, stock up!
