"You are picking up your child! GET OFF YOUR PHONE!!!! Your child is happy to see you! Are you not happy to see your child??"
Farris posted the photo on Facebook last Friday and it has been shared more than one million times.
She said she has not seen anyone on their phones since the sign went up.
"I think (the message) definitely resonates with people," she said. "And it's not just at the day care, it's anywhere."

Years ago I provided continuing education credits for day care professionals and they had an issue with parents not picking up their children as agreed. Some would show up two or three hours after scheduled time. Simple solution Five minutes after closing a five dollar charge per five minutes delay.. within a week no one was late picking up their children... When you give consistent consequences to behavior you change it if you talk you get lip service,,, this works for many situations if one knows what the other persons priorities and values are....

I worked with the head start program and we enforced late pick up penalties too,,,,I cant say if they worked, because they were always in place,

not too many people came late

the cell phone culture does scare me though, everywhere I go, practically every person has their eyes buried deep in a device,,,,,easiest way to get at us if anyone figured out the right way,,,,sad2
