So here we go, America, have you ever wondered how your favorite politicians, actors, rappers, rock stars, documentarians, & so on make there living? How they move up in the echelon ladder so quick? Well, if you want mainstream success its been told what you need to do to achieve it. DO you sell your soul or do you perform rituals to a secret kabala? Or is the talk of the town is a myth it takes hard work, prayers , the vitamins like Hogan would say in the 80's? America, what do you have to do to mainstream yourself to success? Can't you maintain pop success without be a puppet to an organization? Can't I just be good at what I do and loyal fans keep me relevant today? Do I really have to sell out to make it? So let's talk about, what you think?

I believe there are ways to make money without selling out but they are far and few and in between. In the entertainment and political spectrum, however, there is an element to success that requires popularity and stark competition.

I do believe the most 'successful' (ie, the ones who make the most money) artists and politicians have to compromise. How much of their basic standards and values(if they have any beyond making money) that they sacrifice is another question.


I believe the mainstream audience, for entertainers and politicians, tend to be shallow and judgmental so there is this facade of perfection required for entertainers and one of know it all, never back down ego required for politicians.

It is very unfortunate, in my opinion, that our base/mainstream attitudes have come to be so shallow and require such inferior (again, my opinion) human standards of conduct and decency. Yet, if entertainers and politicians want to win over their audience, they have to play the same sickening game.

My take is that every since the 1940's, subliminal messages in music always been a factor. Remember back in the days you wanted to hear what's it sound like when you put your finger on a 45 vinyl record and reverse it backwards. it sounds like demons talking or what the youth would call it chopped & skrewed....lol. America, it is a way you still do your craft and produce greatness but if your vision is to make it big, become a millionaire, want the endorsement deals, the radio spins, guest appearances on tv talk shows , or even cameo in movies then you have 3 doors you must choose.

Door 1- straighten narrow, meaning you want to keep your creativity and have no one change your brand. Also meaning you probably wind up[ being a one hit wonder.

Door 2- is the homosexual activity, sure you straight, but we need you to engage in this freaky group sex. C'mon all the greats have done it. How do you think your favorite celebrity got ahead in there career? c'mon a big producer wants to put you on a mega hit reality tv show all you have to do is do it.

I think you have to be willing to be exploited in order to "make it" (in the sense I think is being used by the OP) which necessitates a certain level of flexible adaptability with ethics, values, morals, and beliefs.


IMO not really.
If you're in a profession where you have "fans" you can't really be a private person.

"Fans" want to feel a personal connection and relationship with you.
If you keep everything to yourself except that which you're "good at" you're ultimately going to alienate fans, they're going to gravitate towards those they can feel more of a connection to, your "success" will dwindle.

The more you share yourself the more your flaws are going to be exposed.
No matter what you do, it's going to piss off someone, and/or can be construed as something "wrong." More so if everything you do is exposed, 24/7 via facebook, twitter, tmz, cnn, national enquirer, cribs, etc., whatever.

The only way you can "just be good at what I do and loyal fans keep me relevant today" is if you constantly provide meaningful novelty.

Lol well Satan has many wonders. his biggest tricks is having mankind believe he doesn't exist. you right you have to be willing to invite him to make you sin. Think about it, remember the pop sensation Kesha, her controversial song " Die Young". What do you think she meant when she wrote that. during the sandy hook murders she was forced to change her lyrics it was promoting killing the youth. then she had another song, " Dance With The Devil". welcome my friend you know I have 2 teenage boys, and they like the popular music and new school rap which is crap to me, but nerveless the music they choose to listen to I know for a fact they sold out. but I'm not the type of dad to tell them who to listen to. when my oldest son says Eminem is a rap god I look at him and say really, son, I mean really. To call anybody a god other than our heavenly father is nothing but a deity. The word American Idol " the word idol is to worship, and that's something I wont do.

When I was struggling to provide for my family I often wondered what it takes to make the big bucks. I busted my butt off and barely made ends meet. I was master certified. Wrote training manuals. Designed changes to trucks that gained corporate notoriety but still never rose above the normal shop positions.
Others that I worked with were fast tracked to those high paying positions and I felt like I was being left behind. Others that I worked circles around. Ones that came to me for solutions. Ones that gravitated to me. Yet they rose the ranks and I didn't?

When I got disabled, none of my past accomplishments meant anything. I was removed in favor of the fresh and new because my health gave out. That was a lot to come to terms with.

What I figured out is that most of us just exist. It doesn't matter who you know, how hard you try or what you do. I stopped looking at others fortune with envy. When they die they will all decay and turn to dust too.

Be content with who you are and the things you have. If you have the means to make it better do so. Even the most fugal existence can be gone in a moment.

wow! that's was incredible journey, basically what you wrote is exactly what goes on in the entertainment industry. I have no problem with an adult with a conscious mind decides he or she want to sell there souls. But when you lying to our babies & our youth saying its about hard work, the prayers , the vitamins and son on to make it, they know as well as I know that its how far of a road are you willing to travel? I'm always bring wisdom to the darkness.
