I am interested in hearing what others think about this "phenomenon"...

Can it be tied into "faith"....

No. A strong immune system.

The Bible suggests that our imagination is indeed where our power comes from.

Genesis 11:6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

Well it depends on what you mean by "faith." I believe that a persons thoughts are a very strong source of energy. Whatever it focuses on, can change a persons perspective of that matter. Most people have control of their own thoughts, but some don't...and for those that don't, their world is much different because of their perception of it. Most others would call that person "crazy" or "insane", but they are really just misunderstood. The problem is that noone will ever understand them.

I've seen it occur as a consequence of the words of a charismatic speaker.

A horrible consequence would be the effect Hitler had on Germany in the early thirties.

I've felt it from the ardor of a woman.

I 've felt it when receiving anything enriching to my heart.

Endorfins, I called it.

Not to be confused with the anointing of the Holy Spirit, I would add.

i think it is more the power of the mind than any religious thing. There is a lot we still dont know about the human mind.

I find it very intriguing that one, simply by believing, can make "it" happen... subconsiously creating the factors necessary for "self-improvement"... on a physiological level...

Obviously, there are studies for and against the notion's possibilities, and studies have shown that even if it is "real", it's effectiveness has not shown to be evident in all instances... especially with some types of "sickness"...

Perhaps it is merely a way of "proving" that prayer works... when you believe in it...

Studies have been done to show the difference between patients with and patients without prayer... and the difference is not only measurable... it is nearly unexplainable by doctors, as I have understood...

I would like to see my tax dollars spent on this... fat chance!

For what it's worth... I believe in the effect...

the prayer parallels associated with the effect...

And the notion of it being evidence of the power living within us...

within our mind...

subconscious mind...

conscious mind...

our being...

And it was not a mistake...

Methinks my mind is over stretched.. laugh

Yes ! And good evening, I am up wayyyyy past my bedtime...

I believe the mind is the most powerful part of this being, the unconscious mind, and the instinctual mind, knows all we need to know.

We manifest exactly what we require, exactly when we require it.

The offerings we have available, are a constant, we only require being open to it..

George Carlin :

Religion has convinced people that there’s an invisible man…living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a list of ten specific things he doesn’t want you to do. And if you do any of these things, he will send you to a special place, of burning and fire and smoke and torture and anguish for you to live forever, and suffer and burn and scream until the end of time. But he loves you. He loves you and he needs money.

~ Placebo Phantasia ~

A placebo in your spirit
is like silence to a mime
it’s the essence of the nothingness
that makes you feel sublime

There’s power in a vacuum
and spirit in the void
A supernatural wellness
that is magically employed

Doctors have no clue!
Lawyers want to sue!
Put placebos in your coffee
and bid them all adieu

An apple for your teacher
A placebo for your mate
An aspirin for your doctor
who’s becoming quite irate!

Medicine and magic
prayers and appeal
row your rowboat gently
down the river of surreal

Life is but illusion
a dream of much confusion
your very soul is in control
with its power of delusion!

Changed out the dryer and got the newer dryer in. It makes noise and goes through the cycle but I think the heater coil doesn't work because it doesn't get the clothes dry. But it does match the other dryer since they are both white heavy duty Speed Queens. I have decided when I get paid to ask the repair shop how to replace the heater coil or see if they will come out and fix it. I think the noise of the dryer that I just put in has a better placebo effect.
