I've heard a few people suggest this, since Trump has been so...non-Presidential in how he has conducted himself. The reason I don't see it being applied(unless Trump suffers a major public emotional breakdown), is the same reason why I'm not seeing much chance of impeachment proceedings: his own party is in charge of the rest of the government.

The main thing Trump keeps screwing up that might make his own party rebel seriously, is national security. Although the GOP does have tremendous double standards, they do still have SOME standards, and if Trump keeps carelessly giving top secret information away to Russia and others as a part of bragging, they may do SOMETHING to try to rein him in. But I can't see them removing him from office, even temporarily.

I can understand this, but also I consider that his 'party' was never really too supportive of him as a leader

his 'tantrums' may come down to his constant Tweets

and his ability to do the job may come down to simply his job performance,,,like any other job

imagine, if you are in a position to hire people and a good portion of those you hire you also fire within a few weeks/months?

or, if you have several of your employees bringing about harassment charges against you?

it may be determined that is not the right position for you to have, or that your 'judgement' doesn't quite meet the bar

the job of President is demanding, things like abuse of power or high turn around, may be indicators of a bad fit,,,,or an inability to understand and perform the job duties,,,

I say MAY BE, because the standards used for determining these things , politically, seem to not be laid out anywhere in detail and up to subjectivity

I have learned never to underestimate the current day Republican Party's dedication to defending their party FIRST, and all other principles later, if at all. It's their greatest failure, in my opinion. It's what led them to do things such as take the US to the verge of defaulting on our debts, thus causing the first ever downgrading of our international credit rating a few years back, and why they have decided repeatedly to "interpret" the Constitution to say the opposite of what it does (such as deciding that it's up to the Senate to conduct Foreign Policy and to negotiate treaties, despite the Constitution saying the opposite).

Hence, I personally anticipate that they would rather let Trump destroy half the country, if it comes to that, before admitting that they were directly responsible for putting such an obviously flawed person into power.
