I would say Im neutral good tom. But it would be interesting if peoples classification of us ,lines up with our claddification of ourselves

Interesting point Peggy, I do know that I am often told I am a good man with a free spirit.

Then I guess your perception and theirs are aligned Tom :)

As a young girl...Nancy Drew Series and "Are You There God, It's Me Margaret by Judith Blume.

Teenage and young adult...Victoria Holt Novels, I liked the romance novels that also had suspense, mystery, and a little culture/history mixed in.

In the last 17 years...

"Conversation With God Series" by Neale Donald Walsch
"Illusions" and "A Bridge Across Forever" by Richard Bach
"Mutant Message Down Under" by Marlo Morgan
"Celestine Prophecy" and "The Tenth Insight" by James Redfield
"The Power of Now" and "Practicing the Power of Now" by Eckhardt Tolle
"Indigo Adults" by Jaffe & Davidson
"Apocalypse of the Mind" by Melissa Lowe Ph.D
"Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz
"Language of Letting Go" by Melody Beattie
"You Can Heal Your Life" by Louis Hayes
"Five Love Languages" by Gary Chapman

And many more...

I love to read anything to do with self empowerment, spirituality, metaphysics, and other thought provoking books about the philosophy of life.

So do I pisces. Anything that provokes thought attracts me :)

Books that have had an influence on the development of my values include several of James Michener's works. Books by Willa Cather, Marjorie Kinan Rawlings, Ernest Hemingway and F S Fitzgerald, Victor Hugo's Les Miserables. Siddartha, Stories by Richard Wright, The poetry of Robert Frost, and Roger Tory Peterson's Field Guide to N American Birds, Terres Audubon Encyclopedia of N American Birds which I have not read in it's entirety. The New Testament. Ralph Ellison's Invisible Man.

I suppose that's a brief list to start with :)

Hey Pegs, after deep thinking this morning (in "this" thread) which I enjoy and respect!!! I started thinking about "escapism reading".

After your deep thought...entertainment. Don't have much energy tonight to start a thread.

You are a very intense thinker Pegs. What do you like to read to wind down?

When I was kind of young, I read a lot of books and stories about horses, and I never owned a horse. I read the whole Happy Hollister series.

When I was in high school and college I love reading fantasy or historical romance novels, and thriller books . I used to finish reading 10 -15 books in a week , me , my elder sister and grandmother loves Mills & Boons, Silhouettes and Zebra Novels. The authors that I like back then were Barbara Cartland, Janet Dailey, Johanna Lindsey, Penny Jordan, Jude Devereaux, Danielle Steel , Judith McNaught, John Grisham, Robert Ludlum. Too many to mention as I have read lots of pocketbooks and each of them have different styles in writing. With magazines I usually read Times and Cosmopolitan I like reading about science and technology, fashion and articles about helpful tips in relationship, health and fitness, home. Anything that I sense could give me some valuable thoughts, I readhappy  I remember my father told us before to instead read love stories we should read the encyclopedia, dictionaries and medical bookslaugh laugh laugh oh yes I did only when I have assignments I did my research at home usually as we have the complete set of encyclopedia and hard bound webster dictionary volume 1&2. And if I don't feel good I research my illness in our medical books. Books are really helpful:) as for my work, I have read some books about management and personality development books. Og Mandino's book "How to win friends and influence people" that really helped a lot, for young one's who are in sales and marketing this is a good book:wink:

Yes Peggy it's a bit corny, but it's entertaining, makes you laugh alone and even cry. Novels are very detailed and it makes you think and visualize the story. And every stories has lessons to learn if you dig deeper into the story, surely you will earn some values in therehappy
