Does a person's plant based diet affect whether you would want to date them?

I don't know. I've never dated a vegan before. I sometimes think about trying vegetarian, but I don't think I'd try vegan eating. If I were dating someone who is a vegetarian, it might be easier to try.

There are different types of vegetarians. There is the lacto-ovo-vegetarian (I am one) who also eats eggs and dairy products. Then there is lacto-vegetarian who eats dairy products in addition to the plant based diet. And ofcourse the 'pure' vegetarian.

I should think not. But birds of the same feather flock together they say.

That would depend. I don't care what they eat but would they care that I enjoy a medium rare steak?

The topic was vegan. That means eating no animal products at all. No milk, eggs, poultry, cheese, fish, beef and other things. I don't think I could do it.

I could not date a vegan... probably nor either a vegetarian.. I like my protein in the shape of spicy chicken/fish/pork.. savoury beef etc. you get the idea..
a girlfriend recently went the vegan route..I mean plants only!! no oils..she lost a lot of weight and now is holier than thou when friends get together.. have to make sure any dish you bring is vegan.. f&*k that. I made potato salad with eggs, oil (mayo), etc...she never had any, but the other crowd did. she ate BBQ eggplant and everyone else had BBq hamburgers/sliders.. each to their own, but don't preach to me about yours..

Does a person's plant based diet affect whether you would want to date them?

Possibly. The difference in diets would limit places you could go.
If there is an ideology that goes with the diet and we would debate more than talk, it might not make for fun times

This has been my experience.

Does a person's plant based diet affect whether you would want to date them?

Yes.
Just because IME it's never "just" the diet.
IME it's always like religion or racism.
It's never "just" a belief in god or just dislike of one group, compartmentalized.
There's always proselytizing, and judgments, and vanity, and smugness, and conceit, a bunch of ancillary annoyances.

It's never (IME) just a normal regular person who just happens to only follow a vegetarian diet and it's a small thing that barely matters.

So if someone I don't really know says they are a vegetarian, or I read it on their profile, or if they email it to me, then I will stop trying to date them.

If I do meet them in person, and they are super hot, I may try to take them on non food related dates in the hopes of having sex with them at some point, but I do know the vegetarianism or ancillary to it thing will kill any future at some point.

Unless it's medically necessary for some reason.
Then it's a different attitude and personality.
If it's a personal or moral choice of vegetarianism, then I tend to avoid dating them.

IMO meat eaters can handle what anyone else eats. Vegetarians amd vegans can't. In my experience, it is a lot of preaching. I will pass
