Good evening my beautiful M2 family, shouts out to everybody that made my last music forum " Your Top Rock & Roll Artist" so i really had an awesome time with your votes. It's safe to say that Neil Young
& Bruce Springsteen was the most mentioned best rock & rollers of all time. Meanwhile remember back in 1981 when MTV was first introduced to us via cable? Do you remember such great New Wave bands was popular? In the States we had blondie, Laura Branigan, Cyndi Lauper, even Madonna right? I was living in Germany at the time so European New Wave will always be with me. We had the invasion. Groups out of my country Depeche Mode, The Fixx, The Who, Human League, Culture Club and many others. I want to do something different. I want us to have an awesome time here, i want to know what was your favorite 80s Pop/ New Wave Artist? I want to gather a popular vote what country in your opinion ruled the radio The States or Europe? I want you again to mention your artist and give me your vote was it the States that rules in creative New Wave Pop ? Or was it Europe that evicted the world and took over the radio? I cant wait to get into this with you all. So let's have some fun.

All votes & replies will be answered back!
Thanks a million

I don't know where to go with this one. In the early to mid 80's I listened to the radio really, really a lot. Almost always on in my house, Philly and NY stations. Rock, and then some country. My town was a year or two late with MTV. I got to like David Bowie, Cyndi Lauper, Talking Heads, Hall and Oates, never became a Madonna fan. Trying to think of what else was good.

I'm trying to think back to early MTV, when it was good. MTV used to play music videos all the time.

New wave is a genre of rock music popular from the late 1970s to the mid-1980s with ties to 1970s punk rock.

Never really got into the punk rock scene

There is no such thing as Euro Invasion music.
There is British Invasion and it encompasses a large grouping of music from Britain.

While I frequently enjoy music from multiple countries in the EU and Eastern block my tastes are so wide I no longer try to make a distinction to the country of origin.

The Euro Invasion was a term created by pop & new wave djs to describe a mix set of records that came out of Europe at the time. Relax , it was never a real war just music set out of Europe. Most of the European artist dominated radio in America.

I give you an example if im a new wave pop dj you had your American bands. So i may spin an hour playing American artist. By the second hour as the dj they would name the set " The Euro Invasion".
meaning an hour of great music coming out my home land. Thats the orgin of the term Euro Invasion.
