This game is so much better than WoW. The graphics are really good and the storyline is great. I got it so that I could play with some friends and I am really enjoying the game. There is so much to do and so many side quests to learn new languages, tradeskills, etc. Does anyone else play?

Jtevans,

EverQuest II was (from what I hear) a far different game when it was originally released. It's now greatly improved. There is lots of end game content. I'm 27th level and it hasn't gotten boring in the least. There is always a quest to do, so you can pick and choose from up to 100 normal quests and an unlimited number of collection quests at any time. I love the fact that the quest log is 100 quests instead of 20-25 like WoW and other games.

heatherrae,

They just released a new expansion. If you buy the new expansion, you get the basic game and all of the previous expansions and adventure packs. It's like $40 for the game and $14.95 / month after the first month. It's worth it if you like the setting of Norrath. I would suggest that you will want a fairly nice computer, because the game's graphics are top notch.

Glad to hear it. I'm on server Befallen, my character is a Sarnak Necromancer named Harag (Murder in Hebrew). Send me a tell ingame and I'll mentor you.

With your recommendation I might try it out over Christmas.

I hadn't started because friends of mine said the only way to get good gear is to pay real money (and that really turned me away from it).

Also, many had told me it's not as fun as WoW, and since I had already had my fun 'venturing around Azeroth, I figured why play something that's "not as fun."

But on your recommendation, I'm curious to try.

Oh my 1st post here and it's on EQ2 weeeee. I played EQ2 and stopped for awhile as any online game can get rather boring no mater how many quests they give you. But I did make it to level cap before quiting and was told expansion wasn't out yet. I do like it better then WoW as it is not cartoonish and the player base is more mature. Hardest thing about EQ2 is getting the gold/plat for new equipment. So of course you should take up a craft which means keep up your harvesting and all that stuff. Unlike WoW you can harvest anything you want and sell it to players if you don't need it. And the crafting itself can get rather tiresome. You can't set it to craft 100 walk away from computer, grab a bite and come back and have your items like you could on WoW. So be prepared to sit there and cast things on your crafted items. But over all the game is alot better then when it 1st was released. Yes I played when it 1st came out and you had a choice of like being a mage then doing a quest to be a wizard, conj, or enchanter. Now you can pick that from the very start which makes it a little easier. As for leveling and getting around it isn't to hard nor is it that easy either.
So if you want to give it a shot go for it and have fun :)
As for me I have a Wizard on Blackburrow server named Estefani and a few other characters I don't remember names of laugh

Well you do have to go through a lot of updates since they put the trial up. Just think of it this way if you like the game and end up buying it you shouldn't have to go through all that again lol.

I played EQ also and I like EQ2 better. Of course it could be that I never got lost on EQ2 and never lost levels on EQ2 like I did on EQ. It is easier then EQ in the sense you don't have to sit to learn a spell. You don't have to worry about going hungry or dying of thirst either. Food is to replenish health out of battle while drinks are for mana. So a lot is different but it isn't hard to learn fast. Oh and I fully understand what you mean by learning more lol. When I stopped playing EQ2 for awhile I went to Starwars Galaxies made a jedi got her to level 90 then quit that because a friend asked me to return to EQ2. Was standing in Qeynos in the bank wondering why the door wouldn't open. Then it hit me duh I have to click the door in EQ2 it isn't automatic like SWG laugh
