A petition calling for President Trump to declare liberal billionaire George Soros a terrorist and seize the assets of organizations tied to him has reached the threshold that requires a response from the White House.

The petition, which needed 100,000 signatures by Sept. 19, had almost 140,000 signatures as of Tuesday morning.

"Whereas George Soros has willfully and on an ongoing basis attempted to destabilize and otherwise commit acts of sedition against the United States and its citizens … The US Federal government, the DOJ should immediately declare George Soros and all of his organizations and staff members to be domestic terrorists, and have all of his personal an organizational wealth and assets seized under Civil Asset Forfeiture law," the petition by E.B. reads.

Soros, who donated millions to Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign, said in January that Trump "is going to fail as president."

Another petition asking Trump to recognize the antifa movement as a terrorist organization last month reached the 100,000 signature threshold after which the White House must reply.

The White House has yet to respond to either petition.

huh... not sure why his tax returns are important, since it was one of his platforms to change the tax rules he admitted he used...just another left side distraction, nothing else...

Petition to declare soros a terrorist stalled in WH...

The wording implies there is some legal basis to a "petition" as some sort of magic scroll that compels the government to do what it says.

You do understand that there have been "petitions" asking to build death stars, take over Hostess when it was failing to nationalize the Twinkie, and fund research to create a hybrid slave race?

And what does it take to sign the petition?
For you to put in a first name, a last name, and an email address.
Personally, I have several disposable email addresses.

Even if a petition gets the signatures, there is no law compelling anyone to respond to them.

Even if you do get a response, it doesn't have to be the president, nor is there any guarantee that anyone higher than the white house janitor will see it or respond to it.

Much like change.org or part of moveon.org it's a farce that mostly just keeps morons busy doing something so they can feel a false sense of accomplishment.

The petitions should be seen as entertainment, not as a realistic exercise of democratic power.

also the one with
1.1 Million signatures on it demanding he release
his tax returns.

There have been public responses to releasing his tax returns.
Trump and his spokespeople have said "no" on several occasions.
