Just a random question to ya'll....

What is the one quality about yourself that you wish people could tell by just looking at you?

Looks don't count...I'm talking an inner quality.

Mine would be my genuine nature...but it is mostly covered with sarcasm, so people tend to mistake me for a total b***ch until they get to know me, no fair...

my passion for life and the good things it holds...too often im a joker or sarcastic but underneath...im intelligent and caring. good thread by the way.

Sarcasm doesn't make you a b***ch. I think sarcasm is hilarious unless it's just mean all the time. Some people just don't get sarcasm...I'm guess that they're not smart enough.

I'm a real smartass and I come across as pragmatic. My natural expression is a tad scowlish so I think I'd want people to see that I can be a bit of a romantic dreamer, creative, sensitive. I seem a bit closed off in person but I'm really not, once someone cracks the door open a little I can be pretty outgoing.

see...you guys named some things that I wouldn't have guessed..I just hate how much our society assumes from people's looks...some of the worse people I have ever met looked the nicest and vice versa...

I'm the exact same way. Some see me as snooty because I'm kinda shy until I get to know someone. Inside I'm loving, funny, compassionate and all those good mooshy things

I concur and am in the same boat. It must be common that the propensity for flippancy and sarcasm masks a genuine hurt, concern, and disappointment in the human condition.

I guess ALL satyrists care TOO much to cope without their humor.

That's me too! I also tend to be very blunt without meaning offense, but some people take it that way and don't look further for the caring and loyalty.

good comments..I think I use my sarcasm and humor to break the ice, unfortunatly..people don't understand it...then they get to know me and expect me to be like that all the time..it really is a double edged sword. Another question to the sarcastic people...when you are alone with someone you like, do you lose this ability to be funny? I do, I am really a blithering idiot when ya get me alone...

Absolutely not. It's an absolute advantage if you're not a cynic with your sarcasm.

Well though.... until you take it a bit to far and end up tasting your boot....... this happened to me......uuhh once.

I rather like the taste of my boots, shoes, and feet, one and both on numerous ocassions LOL Most Sags know this all too well.....

I hear what you're saying. It happens to me, in groups I'm okay but sometimes if you're with someone you like you start pulling punches, don't want to offend, or you feel pressure to say something especially witty and start drawing blanks chalk it up to nerves.

With more people around, there's more comments so you can latch onto one easier to make a comment about. And other people are talking too so it's not like one on one where one person says something and then it's instantly your turn to talk. That's why I prefer groups of women when having intimate conversation...really, that's the only reason I prefer a concubine.

about tasting my boots, shoes, feet..etc...yeah..I have started a weight loss program called "boot the calories!" It works for the too damn sarcstic and overweight people by simply not allowing calories to enter one's mouth...unless, of course, said calories are attached to the bottom of your shoes.. I am not only the president, I am also a client...I have lost 45 pounds simply by saying stupid stuff and now I just chew on a boot and the best news---it is only two points for weight watchers... send me twenty bucks and I'll send you a boot for your mouth too...
