Do people collect this type of thing? Nostalgia? I've looked online and I don't see hardly any for sale, well, any SONY ones anyways.
I'm looking because I have one to get rid of... along with 59 Laserdisc movies... and I'm wondering what to price it at.
It is a SONY MDP-800 It was used about 59 times...

I've heard vinyl is coming back.. I sold mine to a record store... now where is that record player? gonna sell that too.

somebody will buy it all on ebay...

If it works, I would offer it in the $75-100 range, +shipping costs.

I had a laser-disc back in the 80s.
What a PITA.
Very finicky.
I upgraded to VHS.

That being said, there is a market for collectors.
I would probably set my price a bit higher...$200-250 range w/the discs.
As long as it works and there is no problem with any of the discs.

The problem with those players was the disc cartridges not opening right.
Plus the shear size of the discs, they're huge.
If the player gets moved alot or it is jarred, the laser gets out of alignment. They're not as forgiving as dvd.

Gather up all the stuff you can find that came with the player and the discs. Owners manuals will increase its value.
Listing the individual movie titles will also increase its value.

Sell it as a collectors item, you should do well.

I sold several of them on ebay starting bid at .01 and got around $50 or so for them about 12 years ago. They were all Sony.
