If you have worked in that area, please describe what it was like, how you worked with base plus commission, and your working conditions.
I am considering a position, but don't know anyone who has done it. Thanks! |

I have a woman friend of mine who did that type pay set up and going in she said it sounded great. But in reality the base pay was barely worth it and the pressure to sell was terrible
On top of that she said they were at the mercy of what the buyers purchased to be sold and many times it was not what the public wanted. She quit But that is just one story, maybe there are ones that worked out for others. |

Hi Galaxy... I only worked once for a brief time a long time ago, so can't really help you with past experience on my part.
Are you familiar with the Glassdoor? It's a website where you can find reviews from present and past employees for just about any business that is out there. Maybe you can check it out with the company you're looking at. It's totally anonymous. Good luck to you! |

Doesn't look good. |

Bummer! How do you feel about the place and the people you'll be working with? Is the energy there good?

The sales manager who interviewed me was nice/fun. I don't know the other associates.
Fashion was my second career choice, and I would love the department. I think I would do a good job as far as enthusiasm. Glassdoor reviews often mentioned the killer competition between associates, bad health insurance, etc. |

That's probably pretty true in a commission job regardless of where it is. I think your personality definitely fits it and you'd do really well.
Maybe shadow a little for an afternoon and see how it is. |

Just a thought..the whole point of working for someone else
is that THEY take on the burdens of business stress..it seems when they get someone who will work on commission, that comes right back on your shoulders, only without guarantees. |
