Sometimes planning is important but sometimes being impetuous and impulsive can lead to wonderful and quite unexpected results! You just have to guess how to handle each situation.

Just joined this site today, and reading through all the comments. First: I have to ask, on all the women's profiles it states "Last visited over a month ago". Is there anyone actually on this site or are all the profiles generated by the site? Second: I was amazed looking at women's profiles around my age, that were requesting men a lot younger. I think if a guy did that he would be considered a pervert. But to each his own. Last: I have dated women a lot younger and several years older than me. I think someone mentioned it, but if you are within a few years plus or minus and you connect with each other, you have that butterfly feeling in your stomach, what does age matter if the person you are with makes you happy? I think we're all on here looking for the same thing, just because we pass a certain age doesn't mean we are dead, we all have the same desires, needs, and longing to find a suitable companion to share life with.

Eddie - I find that there are a lot of deactivated accounts. Right now I am in SORT OF a relationship, but have not met the guy. There's a lot of nice things about him, but also a couple of "red flags", so just gonna be patient - - when he asks for money, that's the end of it. In the meantime, for myself age doesn't bother me. I was married to my high school sweetheart for 10 years. Then alone for 15 years. Then married for 25 years to a man 23 years Younger than me and boy, did we have fun. -- now alone again for awhile. I sure don't want a sick old man of 96 to take care of, but get so many 20 year old Mid-eastern and African men contacting me its ridiculous. I think you just have to be patient. Posting on the forums kinda make you "real" and you might have a better chance of meeting some real women who are posting a lot.

From our male viewpoint there are many very young women with addresses that clearly don't exist - 'London, Scotland' for example. Or they come from another part of the world and for some reason are really keen to meet this old man!

I suspect these people are either going to invite me to 'join' their website, i.e. pay money to see them online, or they might actually be men trying to strike up an online relationship that ends up with them asking me for money.

These types are so easy to spot I just report and block them. I do feel sorry for anyone, male or female, who fall for this sort of thing. Having said that, there's some really nice people here, just a pity the false ones cannot be prevented from creating a profile in the first place!

All these (wanna say a couple disrespectful words here) people on various sites who claim that you shouldn;t limit yourself as to distance, age, etc...you never know where you will find love..whoa
(NOT scammers, I am referring to real legit people in chat rooms and so forth)

Look...I am not believing some guy from Germany, Spain, wherever....has perused all the profiles on here or any other siote and has stumbled upon mine and was so captivated that he desperately wants to meet me...
C'mon...

Especially when he mentions *nothing* about my profile that interested him, other than touting my beauty....LOL
(honey, I'm no fool..I am not beautiful or stunning...I am at best cute, possibly, in the right light....laugh

I know people do chat up people from different countries, and meet, and it works out sometimes...
But if all you got is "I can't believe you are still single...are all the men in your area blind"???
Don't make me laugh..

It would need to be someone who shares a lot on common with you...something they haven't been able to find in their/ your area...not just that you make their boner tingle....
That's easy to fix locally....

If *I* am going to look for someone several hundred or thousand miles away..you betcha they better be someone who is unique, has many things in common with me, and has qualities I can't find locally..

Not some random dude mass-mailing women all over the place...rofl rofl

Absolutely right, but I have to say that for me, no matter how exciting, long distance just doesn't work. I'm looking for someone local who I can meet for a drink of an evening, or treat to a meal. The time as well as the cost of a long distance relationship is more than I can handle.

I think dating an older person can be advantageous. Since people generally get slower as they get older it's easier to run away from someone older and it's easier to catch an older person running away from you.

Then again it's been said speed kills and if the older person has a gun that could be true in the cases I outlined!!!bigsmile

It's difficult to have a long distance relationship. I have had several nice dates from gentlemen, who traveled here for First date. I didn't consider but One being a good match for me. He lived the farthest away and I couldn't move out of State mainly because of my job.

He didn't understand me, so he finally gave up after 2yrs. communicating.

Long distance is OK if you want a pen friend.

Biggest problem dating an older woman is finding one that will date!

To me age is just a number, it is the mindset and maturity level which matter to me. I have met many younger men that are more mature than some of the older ones. That said, I do have age limits as to whom I am looking for. A man close to my father or kids ages doesn't interest me. To me distance is also a factor. I'm a realist and don't expect someone (or myself) to travel more than a few hours to keep a new relationship alive. I do have my filters set. But if someone views my profile who has a genuine profile that really interests me, exceptions can be made. In the end, if someone legitimately takes the time to read your profile and meets what each of you are looking for - to me it is worth a shot. (Problem is you get so many people messaging you daily and many don't take the time to read what you wrote or have any similar interests - or have fake profiles.....).

My age doesn't seem to a problem to the 20 somethings that contact me on this site. I'm positive they aren't scammers, they are all sincerely interested in me since they are in various states of undress to gain my interest. bigsmile

I have always thought that the ladies get more interest than us men and now I know it's true. I can go a week with no more interest than the very young ones mentioned above. Genuine messages from people who live near to me are few and far between.

Trustworthiness like intelligence doesn't have anything to do with age.slaphead

What the heck! I am 72 and if I tell you to jump off the plane without parachute or I shoot you, trust me I will shoot you if you don't jump.

I am very trustworthy that way. happy winking
