I've been looking for some sort of satisfaction in my life for some point in time now. I work at Viracon coating architectural glass, and lately I've been working on the glass for the new freedom tower which does put a sense of patriotism in some people.
I have a good job, health benifits, a 401k, life insurance, the whole nine yards, and for 21 years old (22 on the 14th) that's not bad. But I want more.
I'm looking into joining the National Guard. I don't want to go Active Army because I don't want to leave everything behind and go overseas, but I do want to join the military. Yes, I know there's a chance I'll go overseas anyway, but I want to see what my options are. So there's my important announcement, I'm looking at joining the National Guard....

Hopefully it'll give me what I'm looking for.

National Guard goes overseas all the time. Just FYI. There's more than "a chance" you will go.

Thanks for your support, everyone.....It means a lot....I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared....It's human nature to fear change, and this is a big one.

Good luck to ya. Really pay attention to the units you can join and look into their deployment rotations. Don't let the recruiter try to put you wherever just to 'fill a spot' because the spots they need to fill the most are the ones that are about to deploy.

Hi Josh, I hope you have thought long and hard about this. Are you sure that is what is missing in your life? Take your time before making any decisions. I have not talked to you for a while. I hope you are doing good. It sounds like the job is going well. I know you will make the right decision for you. Good Luck in what ever you decide.flowerforyou

Yes please take your time to really think about this...

Alot of recrutors are fooling our youth that this is what
they have been looking for in their life. All it has got them is killed...They make alot of promises they do not keep.
There is alot more to life out there besides serving...
Good luck with what you decide. flowerforyou

(Don't anyone rag on me for my opinion)
